'74 Graduate Returns to Hudson to Discuss Newark Earthworks
1974 graduate, Brad Lepper, visited the Hudson Heritage Association's January meeting to discuss the Newark Earthworks.

Created by the work of the Hopewell people two thousand years ago, the Newark Earthworks are the largest set of geometric enclosures and mounds in the world. Lepper's primary areas of study include Ohio's ancient earthworks and the history of North American archeology.

'00 Graduate Bridie Carroll Visits East Woods
East Woods Elementary welcomed Bridie Carroll Srsen, Teaching Artist and Program Coordinator for the Musical Theater Project, Kids Love Musicals Program.

The Kids Love Musical program “recognizes the natural affinity that children have for music, rhyme, play-acting and spectacle” and uses American musicals to teach life lessons. Bridie, a 2000 graduate of Hudson High School and Broadway performer, instantly captivated and engaged students with the lessons to be learned from the Wizard of Oz, such as, compassion, confidence, honesty, bravery, and being a great and loyal friend.
HHS Welcomes Back Class of 2018
The National Honor Society welcomed back the Class of 2018. Students caught up with their fellow classmates, reconnected with their teachers from past years and talked to seniors about making the transition to college.
'73 Graduate Richard Breeden Discusses Scientific Research with HHS
Dr. Richard Breedon discusses the Compact Muon Solenoid Experiment and the Higgs Boson Discovery with Hudson High School students. Breedon is a 1973 graduate of Hudson, a research professor at the University of California, and a visiting professor at Yale-NUS College, Singapore.
With the help of Hudson City Schools Foundation funding, the ArtsNow organization, and Nichole Rice's Middle School Sculpture Classes , "Artist in Residence" Angelica Pozo will work with our students to create tiles for public art pieces to be placed near the new Middle School. The pieces will be completed ahead of the building schedule and will be displayed inside the current Middle School until the grounds are ready. The new grounds of Hudson Middle School will be art-rich with tile sculptures in 2020.

"Angelica Pozo is a nationally recognized ceramic artist, educator and author. A New York City native, born of Cuban and Puerto Rican parents, has lived in Cleveland since 1984. She moved there from Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she received her Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan. Her Bachelor of Fine Arts is from SUNY College of Ceramics in Alfred, NY. A full-time self-employed ceramic artist, Angelica divides her time between public art, tile and sculptural studio work, writing how-to books, teaching workshops on ceramic decoration, tile making and architectural ceramics and often serves as an artist-in-residence on large tile/mosaic projects in school and community settings. Well versed in the process of arts integration, Angelica has over 30 years experience as a teaching artist in the schools. Recipient of an OAC Individual Artist Fellowship, she is in the permanent collection of Museum of Art & Design in New York City. Angelica’s work has been exhibited widely and can be seen online at  www.angelicapozo.com ."

Fall 2019 will bring about another class of Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame members. In Memoriam of Bill Edwards
Longtime teacher and coach, Bill Edwards, has passed away. He was an educator and coach at Hudson High School for 25 years, from 1958 to 1983. As the founder of the wrestling program, Edwards served as head coach from 1958-1973 and started the holiday wrestling tournament that continues today.
