Library Partners with Stafford NAACP to present African American Read-In
Fredericksburg, Virginia, January 28, 2019 - Central Rappahannock Regional Library is celebrating African American History Month with an African American Read-In, a joyful sharing of literature and music, presented in partnership with the Stafford NAACP, at Porter Branch, 2001 Parkway Boulevard, 22554, on Saturday, February 2, 2:00-3:30 p.m. This national event is the first and oldest event dedicated to diversity in American literature.

Members from the Stafford NAACP will read works of African American literature that have been personally meaningful or influential in their lives. This event is a part of the National African American Read-In, which was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a larger part of African American History Month.
