Latinos In Action Make an Impact at JA

Latinos In Action students from Monarch High School have set the bar high when it comes to giving back. This dedicated group often volunteers with 5th grade students participating in the JA BizTown program at JA World. We are inspired by these high school students who are having an impact on the students coming behind them.Thank you for your commitment!

JA Career Bound Students Learn About Careers in Top Local Industries

It's been an exciting year for our JA Career Bound students! They recently visited Broward Health Coral Springs and met the leadership team, as well as learned CPR, took a tour of the Radiology department and watched a surgical robot demonstration.

JA Career Bound also had its marine industry day, hosted by Marine Industries Association of South Florida, which included a water taxi ride through the Intercoastal Waterway and hearing from marine-related professionals.

The goal of these program days is to introduce industries and career opportunities to 150 South Florida high school students.

Elected Officials Impressed During Tours

Special thanks to some of our elected officials who took time from their busy schedules to tour JA World Huizenga Center at the Lillian S. Wells Pavilion and inspire the students we serve.

Recently visiting JA were (top row, left to right) County Commissioner Michael Udine, State Representative Ted Deutch, City of Parkland Commissioner Bob Mayersohn and City of Hollywood Commissioner Richard Blattner. Bottom row are Broward School Board Chair Heather Brinkworth, City of For Lauderdale Vice Mayor Ben Sorensen and City of North Lauderdale Mayor Ann Ziade.
