CASC-MSW Preferred Admissions Program
Students pursuing a Community Action and Social Change (CASC) minor may apply to the Office of Student Services (OSS)
in the School of Social Work for the Preferred Admission Program leading to a Master of Social Work (MSW) as early as their junior year.

SHIFT - Rethink Gender, Recolor Norms, Renew Conversations
The idea behind SHIFT is to promote the exploration of gender through what connects us - distinct perception and representation of strength, love, humanity, compassion, resilience, and creativity. SHIFT be showcasing how gender all across campus represent these qualities through any and all creative talents and art, including but not limited to: photography, singing, dancing, acapella, visual art, film, writing, etc. This is a CASC sponsored event. Gender Revolution in the Trump Era: Transformations in Consciousness and Gender Relations
Explore the rapid transformation in gender consciousness and gender relations during this workshop with Dr. Pamela Aronson. Attendees will discuss changes stemming from three primary sources: the rise of women running for political office in 2018, the emergence of new social movement activism, and the creation of the "#MeToo" movement, which has sparked a new public discourse on sexual assault and harassment.

Building Power: Organizing Effectively Against White Supremacy Conference
The goal of this conference is to equip individuals with knowledge and strategies to engage in community organizing and individual action to resist white supremacy. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from action-driven leaders in social justice, participate in small and large group discussions, and develop action plans for adopting social justice lifestyles. Abortion in a Public Policy & Public Health Framework
Students for Choice is hosting Dr. Jennifer Villavicencio, an OBGYN and abortion provider. Dr. Villavicencio will discuss the public health, public policy, and social implications of abortion, as well as the importance of working within a racially-conscious reproductive justice framework. She will also talk about her personal transition from being a pro-life activist to a pro-choice abortion provider.

Raise the Bar Volunteers
The University of Michigan Sexual Assault Prevention & Awareness Center (SAPAC) is loo
king for new volunteers to facilitate and evaluate workshops for their Raise the Bar program, which is designed to decrease the incidences of sexual and gender-based violence among University students within the Ann Arbor community, by providing tailored two-hour interactive workshops to bar staff on the subjects of sexual misconduct and bystander intervention. Global Scholars Program (GSP)
GSP is an interdisciplinary academic living learning community that brings together international and U.S. sophomores, juniors, and seniors to engage in social justice education on a global level. PCAP invites you to an art auction that will help finance

UM Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)
SEP is an 8-week summer internship program for undergraduate students committed to eliminating racial, ethnic and socioeconomic health disparities. SEP has been placing students in health care organizations in Southeast Michigan.

Funding Opportunities
Daring Dance Student Fellowship
The Daring Dances Student Fellowship is intended to support students or student organizations at the University of Michigan interested in both dance and social justice. Both financial support and community-based mentorship are offered for performance-based student projects and/or professional development.
The Detroit Community Based Research Program (DCBRP)
The DCBRP is a social justice focused summer fellowship program run through the University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program that places students with community based organizations in full-time research positions. Students work with community organizations on projects addressing social and environmental justice, food insecurity, human rights, public health, youth development, and more!
Deadline is December 4.

Foreign Language and and Area Studies Fellowship (FLAS)
FLAS Fellowships provide tuition support and a stipend to students studying designated foreign languages in combination with area studies or international aspects of professional studies. Luce Scholars Program 2019-2020
Boren Fellowship are awarded to graduate students for the purpose of overseas language study, academic study, research (either Master's or Ph.D. level), an academic internship, or any combination of the above. In addition, Boren Fellowships can provide limited funding for domestic language study that will supplement the overseas component. Application deadline is January 30. Learn more and apply.
