Forgiveness: Redeeming the Past, Unbinding the Future

Wednesdays,
March 14th & 21st
6 to 8 pm, Hall

Forgiveness can heal past wounds and open a future less determined by the past. It can also heal relationships, transforming enmity into friendship.

This study will explore the Biblical and theological traditions of forgiveness in dialogue with the arts and the social sciences. In the process, we will also look at the different dimensions of forgiveness and its limits, as well as explore related topics such as repentance, restitution, confession, sin and confrontation. In addition, this study will discuss some of the essential practices necessary to make forgiveness a way of life that contributes to building God’s beloved community.

Our Honourary Associate, The Reverend Canon Dr Gary Hauch is facilitating.

Thursday, April 12th – 4 pm Conversation
De Mazenod Chapel, Saint Paul University

and 7 pm Taizé Evening Prayer
Sacré Coeur Church,

The brothers of Taizé form a monastic community of over a hundred brothers – Catholics, Anglicans, and Protestants from around thirty nations. The community is a "parable of community" and desires that its life be a sign of reconciliation between divided Christians and between separated peoples. Thousands of young people are drawn to Taizé each year to share in moments of prayer and simple fellowship. Brother Emile of Taizé will facilitate the conversation and no registration is required. Sponsored by Anglican Studies (Saint Paul University), the Research Centre for Vatican II and 21st Century Catholicism, and Saint Paul University's Pastoral Services. Please check the website for more details ( vaticanIIcentre@ustpaul.ca ).
