Thank You Once Again
Thank you to everyone who helped out this past week with IHN. In 2001, the Session agreed to become a part of Interfaith Hospitality Network.
Those beginning years had only approximately 8 families throughout the year. This past year we provided sleeping quarters, dinners, lunches and breakfasts for 47 people, of that 26 were children or young adults.
This ministry would not have had the long time success it has has without our many wonderful volunteers. We will always be grateful to Bill Kunz, Ron and Joan Panuska, Bill and Terri Williams and especially Jack and Dot Tolley who have lead this ministry for us over the years. May we not get tired of doing good and continue on with
the task
the Lord Jesus has given us!
Mark your calendar now...IHN will be back April 7 and June 23rd of this year. Additional dates to follow.

Prayer Chain
Prayer is a way for us to reach out of ourselves, to put aside our loneliness or pain for the sake of another. A prayer chain is a way for people to gain assistance in prayer for any serious and pressing problem. It is also a way for any person to act on God's command to love one another.
We, who are pray-ers for our church's Prayer Chain, invite you to join our Telephone Prayer Chain or our E-mail Prayer Chain and become a vital part of our church's prayer ministry. Do pray your prayers in your own way and in your own time.
Always respect their confidentiality.
When you receive a request, you pray and then pass the prayer concern onto the next person on the Telephone Chain. If you are using E-mail, you pray for that request. Call Frankie Kunz, 732-892-4223, learn more about being a member and decide if you'd like to join us. We'd love to have you

Confirmation Meeting February 10
Confirmation
Classes for youth 7th grade and older will begin in February.
This year's course of study will consist of 12 class meetings between February and mid-June (
Confirmation
Sunday), a weekend retreat at Johnsonburg Camp, and a final meeting with Session members. The full schedule will be determined when leaders, parents and interested youth get together on February 10 after worship.
Our classes are a time to learn different aspects of our Christian faith while giving you a chance to ask questions (no question is off-limits), and have a good time in the process.
Please call the church office 732-899-0587 if you plan on attending the Feb 10th meeting.

Sunday School
We learned more about
self-control this month and discovered what Solomon said about the amazing power of words:
"The words of thoughtless people cut like swords. But the tongue of wise people brings healing."
Proverbs 12:18 NIrV
In any situation, words can either hurt or heal. Self-control helps us to think more carefully about what we say. That's important, because our words can help point others to Jesus.

Souper Bowl of Caring Coming in February
Next week, we will be asking you to join us in helping fight hunger through the Souper Bowl of Caring
More than 29 years ago the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group: "Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat."
Since that day, more than $143 million has been raised for local charities across the country through Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around the Big Game into the nation's largest celebration of giving and serving.
Be part of this movement that is sharing God's love with those in need. Please give generously on Super Bowl Sunday
All canned goods and money collected will be donated to St. Gregory's Pantry which is the local food bank that serves our community. Please bring a canned good or donate to one of the two soup pots the youth will be holding at the doors as you leave worship.
