Douglas County Sheriff's Office Update

Captain James Jensen presented a comprehensive overview of reported crime statistics that have occurred in the first quarter of 2018 within the City of Castle Pines. His data shows a very low rate of crime, but he also encouraged residents to take steps to avoid becoming a victim of vehicle trespassing by following these tips:
  • Hide/secure valuables or take them with you
  • Lock your car and park in highly visible areas
  • Do not leave your keys or garage door opener inside your car
  • Close your garage door

Other crime prevention tips and tools are available on the Sheriff's Office website. Captain Jensen also recommended that residents report all crime and suspicious activity, no matter how small the incident may seem. The information the Sheriff's Office collects may help determine patterns of crime or link similar incidents together. With more information, they are better equipped to help fight crime and protect the community.
