A MESSAGE FROM MRS. STALLMANN
We had our first snowfall today! And it came down in big fluffy flakes. The first snowfall is exciting and I was pleased to see so many with snow pants and boots. Just a reminder that we do go outside as long as wind chill or temperature is zero or above. It is important for students to get outside and play—and being as it is Wisconsin—winter is a big part of our year. I do allow students to play on snow banks as long as they have proper winter gear on (snow pants, boots, hat, mittens). We do not play King of the Hill or any type of game that involves pushing or shoving on snow banks. I want students to have fun outside when it is cold and snowy. Please make sure to have your child’s winter gear labeled.

We are collecting our food items for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. This is going on until November 13th so please continue to turn food items in. We want those less fortunate than ourselves to be able to have a happy Thanksgiving as well.
I am happy to announce that Mrs. Sokup will be coming back to school part time on November 12 th. We are very excited to have her back in school and want to thank Mrs. Brown for helping us out in 5th grade for the last month. Mrs. Brown will still be in our school helping part time in the 5th grade all next week but then the plan is that Mrs. Sokup will be back to full time the week of Thanksgiving. We are still working on our long term substitute for Mrs. Radish’s classroom. We have been lucky to have some substitutes to use in there but we are trying to fill the position with one person long term. I will keep you posted when that happens. As of right now, Mrs. Thiele is preparing the lesson plans for the Religion classes and I am preparing the lesson plans for the science classes.

Enjoy your weekend!

Mrs. Stallmann

ST. NICK'S BREAKFAST

Our 22 nd  Annual Breakfast with St. Nicholas and his Friends will be Sunday, December 2, at 10:15 a.m. It is time to reserve your seats for this fun, family, Advent parish event. Our 8 th  grade school students all become saints and help St. Nicholas, both by sharing tidbits of information on the lives of our Catholic Saints and handing out trinkets for all the children as memories of this day.

All seats are reserved. A flyer was in the bulletin last weekend, and a reservation form is also on the parish website home page. Join us with your young children, family, relatives and senior friends.  It is fun for everyone. Seats go fast and are assigned as we receive them.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BREAKFAST WITH ST. NICK'S AND HIS FRIENDS.

Volunteers are needed to help with this event. The 8 th  graders are the Saints so we look to the 6 th  and 7 th  graders to help us as servers. We also need adults to host at the tables, 9:30 – 11:30 am. We also need set-up help on Saturday evening, December 1, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, and clean up help from 11:30 am – to 12:30 pm, on Sunday morning.

A link to the volunteer form is below. You can return it through school to Mrs. Monacelli or email  [email protected]  if you can help. We do feed all volunteers first at 9 am at the minimal cost of $4.00.

Finally, we always look for desserts to complete our meal. If you can bake some cookies, bars, etc., please let us know. You can bring them in Saturday evening or early Sunday morning. Thank you.

LADIES ANNUAL CHICAGO SHOPPING TRIP – Saturday, November 17 th
Join your friends on a Christmas shopping trip on a luxury coach bus to Chicago. The chartered bus leaves St. Al’s at 8:30am on 11/17 and returns to St. Al’s around 9:30pm. The morning commute includes mimosas and pastries and the evening ride includes a movie, wine and snacks. You are free to explore Chicago on your own with your daughters, mothers, sisters, or friends. The cost of the bus is $50/adult and $35/child.  Our bus was full but we’ve had a few cancellations and now have a six seats available. Luckily, our timing is perfect to attend  Chicago’s Annual Christkindlmarket @ Daley Plaza between Washington, Clark and Dearborn Streets .

The Christkindlmarket Chicago is an outdoor German market with German entertainment, shopping and food. The German Christmas festival is an enchanting and inviting holiday village nestled in the center of the city’s downtown. Inspired by the 16 th  century Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg, Germany, Christkindlmarket is well-known for its vendors’ high quality gifts and food, holiday cheer. I’ve also booked a private prohibition tour for those interested in a guided tour of Chicago’s sorted history during the prohibition era. This adult-only tour is an additional $45 and runs from 2:30-5:10 touring famous speakeasy’s around Chicago and sampling prohibition era drinks. Contact Kerri Singer at 414-817-1561 or text 414-405-1561 to book your spot.
