Global Access Program Funds Available
The PA  Global Access Program (GAP) is designed to  enhance the capability of small to mid-sized companies to increase export sales. GAP provides up to $5,000 per award period to eligible PA companies to reimburse up to 75% of qualifying expenses associated with specific export promotion activities. This program is funded in part through a grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration and is administered by the PA Office of International Business Development. Funds are limited and subject to availability.

GAP funds are for approved activities occurring October 1, 2018 - December 31, 2019. All GAP applications must be submitted to the NEPA Alliance at least 45 days prior to the activity for which funding is sought. Contact Debbie Langan for more information.

A Malaysian company is seeking suppliers of Low-density Polyethylene (LDPE) in bales grade A99. They are importing 3,000 tons to their factory in Malaysia monthly. This is a qualified trade lead from PA's Authorized Trade Representative in Singapore.  Contact Debbie Langan for more information.

N.E. PA Defense Transition Partnership is Extended for a Fifth & Final Year
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance and Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, received a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Economic Adjustment grant to accomplish the following objectives:
  • Conduct a Market Diversification Plan for manufacturers that have 5% or more reliance with the DoD supply chain;
  • Identify regional third-party consultants and experts who can assist in the implementation of recommendations contained within the Plan; and,
  • Provide cost subsidies (vouchers) to accelerate manufacturer implementation recommendations contained within their Plan.
Qualifying manufacturers will have a team of highly-skilled experts analyze their market, evaluate the performance of their business and prepare a robust Plan. The Plan will include recommendations for increasing the firm's revenue from new customers, markets and products and through improved efficiencies and the adoption of new technology.   Companies may receive vouchers from $2,500 to $10,000 to cover up to 75% of consultant costs.

Israel - U.S.
Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation
Call for Proposals
The BIRD Foundation promotes collaborations between U.S. and Israeli companies in various technological fields for the purpose of joint product development.  In addition to providing conditional grants of up to $1 million for approved projects, the Foundation assists by working with companies to identify potential strategic partners and facilitate introductions. 

To be considered under this call for proposals, a project should include:

  • Research and development cooperation between two, unrelated companies, one registered in the U.S. and the other in Israel.  
  • Research and development topics that include but are not limited to: advanced manufacturing, agrotechnology, cleantech and environment, communications, construction technology, electronics, financial technology, homeland security and cyber security, life sciences, software, etc.
  • A jointly developed technology or product(s) that shows considerable innovation.
  • A proposed project that demonstrates significant commercial potential.
