ST. PHILIP PAGES AND BLOGS
Principal Notes

Dear Parents,

Happy Valentine's Day.  This morning during assembly, student council put on a skit about Saint Valentine.  Students also learned about Saint Valentine in Family Activity last week and they wrote their prayers for those they love on hearts that are decorating the school hallways.  I love Valentine's Day for its simplicity; just tell your loved ones that you love them. We should do this often but Valentine's Day is a nice reminder.

We will have class parties on Thursday.  Check your class newsletters for more information on this. Remember that students should bring a Valentine for each classmate and do not allow your child to bring special gifts for certain friends.  This is a day for all of us to feel loved, and for no one to feel left out.

Jogathon is coming up and the class competitions are heating up.  Right now KB, KA, and 4A are in first, second, and third place! There are lots of prizes for classes and individuals so if you have not yet registered your child online, please do so.  We want 100% participation! Here are the directions:

Finally, to assist you and us with volunteer hours, we have created a new form for parents to fill out. This form will match your skills and any interests you may  have and make it easier for various school committees to find you when opportunities arise. Please click on the link below and submit the form.  We'd love to make best use of our parent volunteers.  Thanks.

Have a wonderful week,
Jennifer

DRESS/UNIFORM CODE

Saint Philip the Apostle School believes that a dress code is necessary not only in recognition of the economic necessities of families, but also because we hope that a de-emphasis of the material incentive placed on what one wears will foster an appreciation of the beauty that each student possesses as a child of God.
Our school uniform supplier is C.K.W. 9400 E. Las Tunas Dr. Temple City, CA 91780. (626) 287-1994. The only non-CKW clothing allowed is the white polo shirt.
Students out of uniform will phone home to have the uniform brought to school. Hats and non prescription glasses are not to be worn. All articles of clothing are to be marked with the student's name and are not to be oversized. During cold weather girls may wear white or navy blue tights. Only pants and shorts purchased from CKW may be worn at school. The only jacket allowed at school is the school uniform jacket in either green or navy.   White tee shirts worn under the uniform shirt/blouse must be tucked in. Students may not wear turtlenecks or any other visible clothing under the uniform shirt or blouse. The school reserves the right to send anyone home who comes to school inappropriately dressed. The school also reserves the right to confiscate any non-uniform item. The confiscated item may be picked up in the office by a parent only. Unclaimed articles of clothing will be donated to a charity at the end of each trimester. If you are uncertain about any aspect of the dress code, please check with the school before you make a decision about purchases or haircuts.
