I am delighted to be back as your Interim and CEO. This is my second time in this position and I am working hard at catching up on the current issues and on being able to effectively represent EMC and you as members as required in the coming months while the search for a permanent CEO goes on.
In my years at EMC, I was always energized by the contributions of members and it always reminded me that EMC belongs to you as members. My role is to ensure that EMC's activities reflect your needs and I will focus on adjustments required to get you more involved. That will also help me to better understand the many issues facing EMC, some of which are indeed challenging. I plan on making a number of recommendations in this regard to your elected Board of Directors in the coming weeks and if they agree, this will create new opportunities for you as members to play an increasing role in achieving EMC's important mission of increasing electric mobility in Canada's surface transportation modes.
Feel free to share your thoughts on how we can together accomplish this.
EMC's Interim President and CEO sent a letter to the Council of the City of Port Moody, BC expressing EMC support for a proposed zoning by-law amendment requiring EV charging infrastructure in new residential and commercial buildings.
EMC strongly believes that that strategies to increase demand for Electric Vehicles are a priority and the inclusion of EV charging infrastructure in new buildings is an excellent example of needed initiatives to grow the sale of EVs.
Please be reminded that EMC sent to all its members their 2019 renewal invoice by email last month. We invite you to pay your annual membership fees online through memboGo.
We thank the many of you who have already paid their dues.
