Held in Washington, DC in November 2018.
While a number of important One Health initiatives have been launched in the United States and globally, progress to date is still uneven, and requires significant practical and theoretical work to scale. This workshop served as a snapshot of government, intergovernmental, and non-governmental organization innovation as it pertains to the expanding paradigm of One Health. The US CDC Foundation and Oxford University Press have published this manual to serve as a definitive guide to investigating acute public health events on the ground and in real-time. It serves as an essential resource for epidemiologists and other health professionals working in local, state, national, and international settings. Available in hardcover, paperback, and E-book. The IHAC,   Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Shelter Medicine program launched the Pets for Life (PFL) One Health study in mid-2018 in four US communities. This program promotes animal health and welfare through community outreach in under-served areas where access to veterinary care is limited and the costs of care can be prohibitive. IHAC has developed a rigorous and innovative four-year study to explore if this animal-focused program also has positive impacts on human and environmental health in the communities served. ( http://bit.ly/2RPkric) See also:

Coordinated by ANSES (French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety), RESAPATH is devoted to monitoring resistance in bacteria responsible for infections in all animal species. It is both an essential tool for monitoring animal antimicrobial resistance and a key forum for cooperation among stakeholders in human and veterinary medicine as the only veterinary network to be a member of the National Observatory for Epidemiology of Bacterial Resistance to Antimicrobials (ONERBA) which brings together several networks in human medicine. Its work is thus continuously in phase with current issues in the field of antibiotic resistance in both humans and animals, at national and international levels.
