Cobey Woodall   is the Business Development representative for CopperTree Analytics. He covers the Washington and Oregon territories. He has been with CopperTree for a year and a half.

CopperTree Analytics provides energy management and automated fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) with their Kaizen software. It is a powerful ongoing commissioning and analytics tool that works in conjunction with your Building Automation System (BAS) and metering systems. Kaizen continuously monitors your building's performance and energy consumption, measuring it against optimal performance guidelines and its own baseline, alerting you if a fault is detected or if performance is sub-optimal. It translates your building's output data into meaningful information and alerts your team with the actions that need to be taken and enables you to make informed decisions.

This is achieved while saving time and money. CopperTree empowers building managers to optimize their building's performance, reduce energy consumption, and improve occupant comfort.

Our next step will be to establish a working group with key stakeholders in the region. This collaboration is still in the early stages but if you are interested in joining this working group please email Bob Tribo at [email protected].

Seattle Energy Benchmark Reporting Deadline Extended
The City of Seattle has extended this year's annual reporting deadline for Energy Benchmarking to July 1, 2019 (for 2018 data). Nonresidential and multifamily buildings 20,000 SF+ must update U.S. EPA Portfolio Manager accounts with accurate space use details and consumption data for 2018. All buildings subject to the annual requirement must be able to generate a 2018 December ending Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and ENERGY STARĀ® score (if available). Portfolio Manager accounts must also successfully share data with the City of Seattle Annual Reporting Portfolio Manager account by July 1, 2019 to be considered compliant. Compliance can be confirmed starting early March. For questions or technical assistance with reporting your building's annual energy consumption, email: [email protected].

Seattle Services Portal is live and accepting Building Tune-Ups submittals
The City of Seattle has launched the Building Tune-Ups module on the  Seattle Services Portal. What does this mean for Building Tune-Ups related submittals? After April 1, 2019, all submittals will be done using the Seattle Services Portal. At that point, the Microsoft Excel version of the Building Tune-Up Summary report and the PDF version of the Alternative Compliance request forms will no longer be accepted. Before submitting via the Seattle Services Portal, you will need to   create an account if you haven't previously done so, and then  claim your building use the claim code mailed to the owner of record. If you need assistance with a building claim code, please email us at  [email protected].

Upcoming Building Tune-Ups program deadlines
Deadlines for both 200,000+ SF buildings and 100,000-199,999 SF buildings are fast approaching. Reminder that for 200,000+ SF buildings, the deadline to submit Tune-Ups is March 1, 2019. For buildings between 100,000 SF and 199,999 SF, the Alternative Compliance deadline is April 1, 2019.
