The 5 days of events culminate with the highly popular Grand Tasting at the Santa Fe Opera where all participating Santa Fe restaurants and wineries serve samples of their best food and wine.  Events are held at various restaurant locations, the convention centre, and for the finale Grand Tasting, the Santa Fe Opera.

So that means  The Double Dose of Water Colour reception and Artist in Residence event featuring Sandi Lear and Charles Frizzell  will kick off on Friday 27th September! Then Saturday and Sunday, S andi and Charles will be painting side by side, demonstrating their very different techniques.
Friday morning 10:30am 1:30pm,
Saturday 10:30am - 4pm - and if we're really lucky, Sandi will give us a grand finale on Sunday morning as well!

But since September is still a ways off, (but time flies remember), consider this your personal invitation from me to attend our Annual Artist Anniversary Reception on Friday, 24th May 2019. 5pm - 8pm.

Always my favourite reception where I can really let my hair down and relax, my artists venture out of their studios to travel to Santa Fe, so I can host their reception to honour them and show how much they mean to me as friends as well as the fabulous artists they are.

So come on out to the gallery and chat with these amazing people, and of course enjoy passionate music, great food, and as always, the open wine bar!

Sandi is expected to fly up from Australia for this reception, so that will be an added treat for all of us. Busy as ever Sandi is giving us a sneak preview of this year's   dynamic paintings capturing the essence of her animals' emotions, so scroll down to enjoy her latest collection.

Questions? Just call or write to me, you know I'm here every day!

Che ers,
Lisa.

Shine
By Sandi Lear
Water Colour Painting
23" x 16.5" on Arches 300gsm rough

Sandi describes her work as allegorical representationalism.  Each anthropomorphic work suggests an allegory drawing parallels to the human condition.  Writing original prose describing the inspiration for the piece, Sandi invites the viewer to immerse themselves, imagine and create their own story.
Lessons in life from the wild in life.

Love and benevolence shines from within us when gazing at those we love.  It creates a deep well of feeling and emotion that can roar forth when the need to protect is fierce, or the depth of love can no longer be denied.  The lion is capable of great compassion, leadership, benevolence but also a fierceness - not only for his own but also for other living creatures.  We have within us a deep well of love and light just waiting for the chance to escape, a passion, a love, a longing....for person, place or opportunity it matters not...just that chance to shine.  When we realise this, it changes our entire mien, our attitudes and how we look out on and be part of our world. Too often we hide in fear, yet like the lion, who fears nothing, so we should gather all that joy inside us and let ourselves....Shine."

Lessons in life from the wild in life.

"We all have a song inside of us, whether we hold a tune or not, we create harmonies inside our mind, sing along to music, let out our joy....sometimes we do this inside, the world does not see, but in the privacy of our homes, of our minds, we can give voice to all the joy inside. If we are lucky we find that special someone who resonates with our spiritual melody, with whom we find that freedom to belt out, without judgement, all the passion, pain, anguish, elation we feel...our own Aria."

Lessons in life from the wild in life.

here is alot of power in the Universe, alot of power in love.  More so when we come together to create something momentously beautiful, something no other can do, create a life.  The bonds born of the womb reach far into the Universe, beyond infancy, beyond childhood, beyond adulthood.  The depth and breadth of emotion, caring, devotion cannot be described but in a sigh, a hug, an enfoldment of one's world as it centres on another.  To be blessed with more than one life to care for is challenging.  Like the lioness, a gentleness turns to fierce protection.  As the young grow, they form bonds of love and sibling rivalry, as they play and learn, always scampering back to Mother's side, for that special embrace, that deep connection only to be found in... a "Mother's Love".
