Truro Recycling Committee
We are the recently-formed Recycling Committee, focusing on recycling and sustainability in Truro. Watch for news and informational articles in future newsletters as we expand our vision and focus on important topics. Current Members: co-chairs Nancy Fenichel and Diane Messinger, Ewa Nogiec, and Amy Wolff.
You may have noticed that as of October 30th, our beloved Swap Shack has been closed and is being torn down. The current building was deemed unsafe, and demolition is required. The next steps are for ground testing, required remediation, and - if funding allows - a new building erected by spring. We will keep you up to date as new information becomes available.
Historical Society
Starting to think about holiday gifts? The Museum has published two hardcover books: 2015 & 2016 Living Legacies and 2017 & 2018 Living Legacies. They make perfect gifts for Living Legacies and their families. We also have reproductions of vintage maps for sale. They can be seen on our website. Please contact director@trurohistoricalsociety or stop by the Cobb Archive most Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30-11:30 AM. Thank you for supporting the Highland House Museum and Cobb Archive!
Commission on Disabilities
Do you have a question or a concern about your legal rights -- or those of a friend or loved one -- as a disabled person? The Disability Law Center (DLC) is a private, non-profit organization responsible for providing protection and advocacy for the rights of Massachusetts residents with disabilities. The DLC receives federal, state, and private funding, but it is not part of the state nor the federal government.
You can learn more on their website:

Truro Food Pantry
With consideration of our seasonal economy, many Truro neighbors rely on the Food Pantry for assistance during the off-season. If you leave for the season, you are encouraged to drop off any unopened food at the Truro Community Center or the Truro Library in the FOOD PANTRY donation basket. While you're at it, donations of financial assistance can be sent to the Dexter Keezer Fund at Box 572, Truro, MA 02666 or made online at keezerfund.org. If you are interested in visiting the Pantry or have questions, feel free to call Diane Rose 508-349-3841 or Sally Brotman 508-349-2601.
