Dear friends,
The Nov. 10 - Dec. 31, 2018 Sleep Out goal is $2,400,000...whew! While it sounds like (and
is) a daunting goal, what's driving it is an even more daunting increase in the number of families and kids of our community who are experiencing homelessness. One in five - that's 429 - of the 1,966 families who came to our doors in the past year were experiencing homelessness. A heartrending spike.
We approach this campaign with a sense of urgency. The significant and sobering attrition of formerly affordable rental housing complexes gone to market rate, along with a growing gap between real incomes and ordinary costs of living, has sent an exodus of low-income families and individuals of our community into an economic tailspin. These are the folks we see every day at Interfaith Outreach. We need to ramp up communitywide efforts to stem this tide with all the energy and heart and will we can muster.

Through the Sleep Out, this community and Interfaith Outreach have prevented homelessness 32,098 times.
For 23 years, thousands of caring community members have slept outside in boxes, tents and cars (or crashed on carpets) to raise awareness and funds to prevent homelessness and support struggling local families.

hundreds of families now have sponsors who will purchase holiday gifts for them - thank you!
We are no longer in search of gift sponsors, but we are still
collecting financial donations for an estimated 200 families (670 people) who
will need holiday support in the coming weeks.
We invite you to donate (select "Holiday Gift Program" in the drop-down menu).
Or you can donate gift cards in $10 or $20 increments for retailers like Target, J. C. Penney, Kohl's, Best Buy, Cub Foods or Holiday gas. Please bring gift cards to Interfaith Outreach, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at 1605 County Road 101 N in Plymouth before Dec. 14.

Join us for a morning of reflection and inspiration! We're excited to welcome keynote speaker and talented singer/songwriter, Stephanie Varone, to share her message entitled "Manifesting Your Light."
The event costs $20 and includes breakfast, music from local musicians and readings by local faith leaders.
