FEATURED EVENT: Reedville Bond-Completion Open House
On Thursday, Feb. 7, historic Reedville Elementary School celebrated the completion of $11.9 million in bond-funded renovations with an all-school assembly, featuring several guest speakers, and a community open house. Open house attendees were able to take self-guided tours with poster displays and audio/video capability to get more details about the renovations they could see - like the new modular building housing five classrooms, a kitchen and cafeteria - and ones they could not - like seismic enhancements, HVAC upgrades, and air conditioning. Excitement for the renovations and how they will enhance student learning was palpable among students and adults alike. Many thanks to our community for making this project possible by supporting our 2017 bond! Click here to see a gallery of photos.
February is CTE Month
UPCOMING
EVENTS
February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month - a public awareness campaign taking place across the country to celebrate the value of CTE in preparing students for high-wage, high-demand careers. In HSD, we have 31 CTE programs in our high schools and we are continuing to grow program offerings. This year, we also have after-school CTE exploration opportunities offered to students at all four middle schools. Thank you to all of our HSD staff, community members, businesses, and non-profit organizations who support our CTE programs!

Century SBHC Immunization Clinic

Immunization exclusion day is Wednesday, Feb. 20, which means students who do not have the required vaccines or a valid exemption by that day will be excluded from school until they have received them. The Century school-based health center (SBHC) would like to remind families that vaccines are available at the SBHC any time during normal business hours. However, in preparation for exclusion day, they are holding an immunization clinic on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advance appointments are recommended, as walk-ins may experience long wait times.
