MOVIE REFLECTION GROUP - DATE CHANGE

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30th at 4:45 pm
Dedham Community Theatre, 580 High Street, Dedham

PARASITE
FOREIGN  |  R
Meet the Park Family: the picture of aspirational wealth. And the Kim Family, rich in street smarts but not much else. Be it chance or fate, these two houses are brought together and the Kims sense a golden opportunity. Masterminded by college-aged Ki-woo, the Kim children expediently install themselves as tutor and art therapist to the Parks. Soon, a symbiotic relationship forms between the two families. The Kims provide 'indispensable' luxury services while the Parks give the Kims a way out of their shabby circumstances. But this new ecosystem is fragile, and soon enough greed and class prejudice threaten to upend the Kims' newfound comfort.

MOVIE REFLECTION GROUP
If you enjoy the movies....this is the group for you

Once a month (late Sunday afternoon) we will venture to the Dedham  Community Theater at 580 High Street to see a movie. No need to  RSVP, simply arrive for the movie and look for Reverend McCarley.  Following the movie we will adjourn to a local eating establishment  to reflect on the themes, acting, directing of the movie.

HELP US DECORATE OUT CHRISTMAS TREE
BRING IN SOCKS, GLOVES & HATS
FOR  HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS

One item most requested in shelters this time of year is socks. And, of course, gloves & hats are an additional necessity. Please bring in socks (adult sizes, please), men and women's as well as gloves and hats. We will have a tree set up in the Church for you to "decorate" with your offerings. It's a small thing we can do to make a difference in people's lives.

BOOK OF ACTS BIBLE STUDY

Our Adult Forum series this year is a Bible Study designed for those who have read the Bible and others who are new to the concept of a Bible Study. Learn about the history and theology of the early Church and how this relates to your life in Christ in an encouraging, non-threatening atmosphere. We will gather in the Vestry Room after an opportunity to get some coffee and treats and say hello to our neighbors during the Fellowship Hour for a study lasting between 45 minutes to an hour on the listed days .

Luke will be our guide as we relive the events of the early church. Catch the wind of the same spirit that brings renewed life to today's Christians. Participants will visit the key personalities, review their activities, reflect on their meaning, and discover their message to the Church today.

Wednesday, December 4th
at the Rectory,   73 Court Street

Yankee Book Swap & Christmas Cookie Swap

will take the place of a book discussion for December

The January book selection is:  The Dutch House  by Ann Packett
A richly moving story that explores the indelible bond between two siblings, the house of their childhood, and a past that will not let them go. The Dutch House is the story of a   paradise lost, a tour de force that digs deeply into questions of inheritance, love and forgiveness, of how we want to see ourselves and of who we really are.

BABY BASICS DIAPER DRIVE
Baby Basics, Inc . is a 501c3 non-profit, 100% volunteer organization that provides and distributes diapers to babies of the working/near poor in the communities of South Boston and Dedham/Needham, MA.

Baby Basics, Inc. believes that early intervention with infants is one of the best ways of preventing a later failure to thrive. By providing these babies with hygienic essentials, we hope to maximize their potential development

This year St. Paul's Sunday School is getting involved in helping others.  We recently were approved for a matching grant from the Diocese for $1,500 to provide diapers and other necessities to Baby Basics. In order to achieve our goal of raising $1,500, (for a grand total of $3,000) we need your help . ( Please make checks out to St. Paul's and be sure to note "Baby Basics" on any donations, whether in Sunday offering or sent to the parish office)

December 8th a Bake Table & Donation Drive (you will have the chance to purchase a Christmas "gift", a card, purchased with your donation, to give to someone who has   everything they need and would like to help others during the Christmas season).

THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Sustaining Earth, Our Island Home

Thanks to the Diocese of California, our whole church has a new tool to support anyone who wants to make more life-giving choices about how we inhabit the earth. The Carbon Tracker is a web-based application that helps individuals, households, congregations and even dioceses to measure your carbon footprint and take steps to shrink it to fit a sustainable life.  The app is organized around life choices clustered in five main areas. The choices range from Easy to Hard - everyone will find something here. But there is more here than tech and data. There are links to church-wide creation-themed formation resources. There is space for online discussion. This is truly a community action. Go to  www.sustainislandhome.org
to download your app today. The Creation Care Justice Network of the Diocese of Massachusetts is encouraging all of us to join.
