Benita Griffin named new Lower School Head
Ms. Griffin emerged from a deep and talented pool of educators with significant experience in both the classroom and at the administrative level. She will bring to St. Christopher's 16 years as an elementary teacher and 10 years as an administrator, including her current experience as Assistant Head of School and Lower School Director of St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School in San Mateo, CA.  READ MORE

X-Term sees students engaged in projects throughout the world
 
During X-Term, students left the classroom in exchange for special learning opportunities on campus, service-learning opportunities in Richmond, wildlife and natural resource studies in different locations across Virginia, and for global learning opportunities on three continents outside of the United States.  READ MORE
Eighth grade boys receive Valentine's Day cards from St. Catherine's

Ms. Pohanka's eighth grade French students received Valentine's Day cards from French students at St. Catherine's. After reading their cards, the boys employed their French skills to create Valentine's cards for the girls.  WATCH

Children's author Carmen Agra Deedy visits Lower School 

Children's author Carmen Agra Deedy visited the Lower School in February to speak to boys about her books and her creative process and to hold a book signing. Fifth grade boys enjoyed a special question and answer session with her as well.  READ MORE AND WATCH

Kindergarten boys celebrate the Olympics

In February, boys in Mrs. Mathews' kindergarten class kicked off the beginning of the Olympics with a fun activity. Boys made skiers, worked in small groups to design bobsled courses, and earned gold medals after the competition.  READ MORE

First graders paint hearts for SCAN

First grade boys painted hearts for SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) as a Valentine's Day activity. Their art will be given to children served by that organization as small acts of kindness.  WATCH

Bishop Susan Goff visits StC on Ash Wednesday

Bishop Susan Goff's visit to St. Christopher's on Ash Wednesday began in Upper School chapel where she preached and presided over the imposition of ashes. In her homily, Bishop Goff spoke about how this year, Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day fell on the same day.  READ MORE AND WATCH
Pete and Christian '13 Alcorn speak in Upper School chapel

Pete and Christian '13 Alcorn spoke about the experience of losing their son and brother Quentin '12, and the importance of discussing mental health issues. They also emphasized the value of learning how to ask for help at an early age.  WATCH
Adrian Olsen '04, performer and record producer

We recently caught up with Adrian Olsen '04 who runs Montrose Recording Studio in Richmond. After touring the country with his band Avers, Adrian is now focusing on producing records for other artists. READ MORE
