8:00, 9:30, & 11:00 am Services

The questions keep coming at Jesus. The scripture for Sunday is one where it is not clear if those approaching Him are trying to make Him fail or if it is a legitimate query. So many groups in the time of Jesus had varying beliefs in God, with motivations which ran the spectrum, and different degrees of trust in the One He sent. While the cultural setting and time is unique to them, there are some similarities we can understand. And, when we read the question from the Sadducees from the scripture this week, we may wonder what it is about. Yet, when we think about it, we understand they simply want to know about what happens after this life, with regard to how they lived it here. All of us want to know that too. What is interesting is how Jesus answers. We are going to think about the history behind their question and how Jesus reframes their thinking. And, we will consider how we think about heaven as well.

On Sunday, we will pray for our veterans and for the peace of Christ to continue to permeate our world. I hope to see you in God's house.

Quotes from children, aged 5:

"Once I'm done with kindergarten, I'm going to find me a wife."

"There are no doctors or lawyers in heaven. . . they don't need them because God does all the healing and because all the arguments are against the law."

"Are we almost there yet?"

Music This Sunday

Thanksgiving is approaching, what a great season! Let us usher it in with a hymn of thankful praise this Sunday to open our worship service. Then we'll praise Jesus focusing on his promises and faithfulness to us, remember the ways He has changed us, provided for us, and blessed us; being confident that He will always do so.

We will end the services with a celebratory hymn of praise that is rich with themes of eternity, Jesus conquerage over death, and His kingship. See you Sunday!

A Moment for Missions
Say "Hi" To The Shattenbergs

Last Sunday we were blessed with video greetings from Jamie and Alissa Shattenberg (also representing their kids Isabella, Eliana, and Gavin). They are our missionaries to Madagascar. Being on the mission field can be exhilarating, rewarding, challenging, discouraging and lonely.

Though they feel loved and supported by us as a church family your personal emails will be a significant encouragement and blessing to them. Let them know what is going on in your life and how they can pray for you. Let them know you love, care and are praying for them. It is really that simple, it is really that important. Contact them at [email protected]
