NEW: ACT/SAT Score Requirement test

This is a reminder that effective May 1, 2019, a freshman must have an ACT score of 18 or an SAT score of 970 to use a test score as part of initial eligibility. The requirement is based on the date the test is taken. This means a ny test taken on or before April 30, 2019 requires an ACT score of 16 and SAT score of 860.  Any test taken May 1, 2019 or later requires an ACT score of 18 and SAT score of 970. NEW: Evaluative Criteria Changes transfer
 
The Competitive Experience Committee voted to remove "transfer restrictions" from the evaluative criteria 's definition of "contracts," effective May 1, 2019. The new definition will be applicable to students seeking an eligibility decision for the fall 2019 term and later. Seasons of competition charged under past definitions will not be reevaluated.

NEW: NAC Approves Recommendations for Marathon marathon

The National Administrative Council (NAC) approved the Marathon Exploration Work Group's proposed recommendations regarding the marathon event at the Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. The recommendations, which go into effect in 2019, serve to improve conditions for the overall health and safety of the student-athletes competing.

NEW: NAIA Grant Opportunity for Women Leaders women

The NAIA provides one tuition grant for an NAIA female administrator to attend the Women Leaders in College Sports Institute (previously NACWAA) for Administrative Advancement (IAA). To be considered for the NAIA grant, the grant application must be completed by Feb. 11, 2019. The grant covers $500 including all registration fees, lodging, and meal expenses for the selected NAIA member. (Travel is not included.) Additionally, an application must also be submitted directly to Women Leaders by the Feb. 11 deadline.
  
 
NEW: NAIA Volleyball Championship Spurs Local Economy economy

Sioux City, Iowa, the host of the NAIA 2018 Women's Volleyball National Championship, had an overall economic impact estimated at $10.7 million due to the four-day tournament and nearly 19,000 attendees.

New Golf Rules and NAIA Hard Card golf
 
Effective January 1, 2019, the USGA adopted major changes to their playing rules, thus affecting NAIA golf competition and the NAIA Hard Card.
