When Will We Sing?

Many of you might have read the article back in March about the choir that met in Washington state where the 60 member group met and rehearsed in a county where there were no cases of COVID-19. Forty of those singers ended having COVID-19 symptoms and two died. I have spent my entire adult life serving the United Methodist Church in music, which means the news from the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) to not...

Manna Room

Aledo UMC's Manna Room has been open and busy the last two months.  An average of 20 bags a week are being given out.  If you would like to help feed our neighbors, the following items are needed:
  • Instant potatoes
  • Canned fruit
  • Tuna
  • Vienna Sausages
  • Oatmeal
  • Mac and cheese
  • Canned Ravioli
  • Saltine crackers
Donations can be placed in the marked bin in the Narthex. Thank you for your faithfulness in feeding our hungry friends.
COVID Protocol

Please be aware there will be a disinfecting cleaning of all facilities prior to all services. We are working with PBS of Texas, the same company that cleans and disinfects our state Capitol in Austin, as well as many other facilities and laboratories.  They use a CDC recommended electrostatic spray on all surfaces of the facility.  This is a hospital grade disinfectant that is applied in a spray; it kills harmful pathogens and completely dries within minutes, leaving surfaces safe for contact almost immediately.  Our goal is to create a clean, healthy and safe environment to best serve and protect our congregation.
Need Assistance?

If you or anyone you know is in need of food Aledo UMC has Manna bags ready to go.  Hours to pick up a bag of canned goods are Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon-3:00pm, in the Narthex. If you live in Parker County and are needing help on a utility bill, please email info@aledoumc.org or call 817-441-8329.
Electronic Giving

As we move into virtual worship and other gatherings for the foreseeable future, now is a great time to connect with online giving to ensure that the ministries and outreach of the church are not interrupted.
There are two basic ways to give electronically, and both are quick and simple.
  1. The best option is to give via a direct transfer from your checking account. This is fee-free for you and the church. Simply fill out the accompanying ACH form and send it in to the church office along with a voided check. You can mail it to Aledo UMC, PO Box 126, Aledo, TX 76008.
  2. Or you can text "aledoumc" to 77977. This will connect you to a service called PushPay, which will allow you to give electronically to the church using either a credit card or debit card. You will receive a text back with instructions guiding you through setting up your gift. You can give either a one-time gift or set up weekly or monthly giving through PushPay.
