Dear St. John's Community:

While we celebrate the start of a wonderful new school year, I am excited to update you, on behalf of the Head of School Search Committee, regarding our progress and timeline.

Communication and transparency are vital during this process, and we are pleased to report that we have had a fantastic start. Last May, Tom Olverson, our consultant from Resource Group 175, spent two days at St. John's meeting with parents, students, teachers, staff, alumni as well as the Board of Trustees. The site visit emphasized the spirit of our school, the dedication of our community, and how invested we all are in the future of St. John's. Additionally, members of our community had the opportunity to complete an online survey. The site visit and survey were vital components to help RG175 and the Search Committee learn more about what our community is looking for in the next leader of our school.

We are thankful to everyone in the St. John's community who participated in the site visit and took the time to complete the online survey. Your support and thoughtful insights provided valuable feedback for the direction of the search. Based on this feedback, RG175 and the Search Committee created a detailed position profile for the Head of School .

RG175 is actively engaged in building a strong candidate pool, which includes vetting each prospect through preliminary interviews and reference checks. Our committee will begin screening candidates in September, with the goal of identifying and inviting a small group of finalists to St. John's for interviews in October.

Out of respect for personal privacy, all communications and interviews with candidates before the finalist stage will be confidential. Once we have a list of finalists, we will begin the process of scheduling dates for finalist visits so members of our St. John's community can have the opportunity to meet with the candidates and provide feedback.

The Search Committee's goal is to complete the process before the end of this calendar year. As a reminder, the Head-Elect will not officially assume responsibilities at St. John's until July 1, 2019, upon the conclusion of Mark Crotty's tenure.

Based on our progress so far, we are incredibly positive about what lies ahead. I look forward to providing you more information about the finalist visits. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Warm Regards,

Chair, Head of School Search Committee
