This is to advise all members we now have 4 candidates running for to be GACP's next 4th Vice President. The election will be held in conjunction with our Summer Conference in Savannah on Monday, July 22, 2019. The candidates are listed in alphabetical order;
Scott Gray Fayetteville
Augusta Palmer Waynesboro
Alan Rowe Valdosta State University
Charles Spann Atlanta Technical College
The GACP Constitution allows for others who wish to run for 4th VP the liberty of announcing their candidacy up to the close of the business meeting at the Winter Training Conference. Once that meeting closes, no other candidates can run.
Voting members are considered Active members in good standing, as well as Life members. However, only one Active member may vote per agency. Good standing generally means that your dues must be paid. Payment of dues often are done when registering for the Winter Training Conference. If you are not attending the Winter conference, please make sure your dues are paid ASAP or at least before the STC or you will not be permitted to vote. Also, as per the GACP Constitution, if your
$100 dues are not received before January 31st, a late fee of $25.00 will be levied. Life Membership is granted by the GACP Executive Board to thank you for your many years of service as a GACP dues paying head of a law enforcement agency.
If you have questions about the criteria to run for office or the rule of running for office, you may contact me at the GACP office, or you may contact the Chairperson of the Nomination and Election Committee, who by Constitution, is GACP's Immediate Past President. This year's Immediate Past President is Dennis S. Nelson. Dennis may be reached via email at
