Hi,
The opioid epidemic. Plastics filling our oceans.
New fossil fuel pipelines. The de-funding of public education.
The attack on working people.
All of these issues can be tackled much more effectively in 2018 if
We the People
understand that they are mere symptoms of large corporations exercising their so-called constitutional “rights”.
We tackle the structural causes of the issues everyone’s worried about these days, whereas virtually all of the other organizations focus simply on one corporate assault on people and nature at a time, and usually from a reactive rather than pro-active posture.
Here are just two examples:
- Numerous groups around the country are working to defend our national monuments and other public lands from the latest attacks by Trump’s Department of Interior, without understanding that this can only be happening because resource extraction corporations are exercising their so-called Constitutional “right” to lobby our government for more access to these lands (as a First Amendment Right of a corporate person).
Imagine living in a society where resource extraction corporations are prohibited from lobbying.
- Numerous groups are working to stop Monsanto Corporation’s expansion of GMO products which will soon include salmon, potatoes, and flax (if we don’t stop them soon) without understanding that this can only be happening because Monsanto Corporation is exercising its so-called Constitutional “right” to decide which new GMO crops are to be grown (as a Property Right of a corporate person).
Imagine living in a society where corporations have no public-policy-making authority.
Are YOU willing to step up to the plate with a
generous year-end contribution
so we can educate people and advocacy groups across the US, and change the dominant conversation to the urgent necessity of dismantling the structures of law that make corporate control of our society inevitable? Thank you!
