New Year's Greeting from Dean Michele H. Jackson
|
Dean Jackson takes a moment to reflect on recent events, discussing their effect on our community. The Dean's Leadership Team is working to make the actions of college leadership more open, collaborative and accountable. We will learn from the past to point us in the right direction for the future.
"Briggs continues to be a college like no other, and I am proud to be the LBC Dean," said Jackson. "The path forward isn't an easy one, to be sure. But we have the humility to acknowledge we need to change, a commitment to one other and to our students, and the will to reach our destination together."

Empower Extraordinary Campaign Comes to a Close
|
|
January marked the end of MSU's Empower Extraordinary Campaign, which raised a total of $4,673,060 for Lyman Briggs College. Nearly half of all documented dollars given to Lyman Briggs over its 50-year history were received during the Empower Extraordinary Campaign.
“The generosity of donors furthers our success in creating the next generation of leaders in science and medicine. Gifts provide Briggs students opportunities that may otherwise be out of reach, and faculty with the resources to pursue excellence in innovative and transformative science education. Our friends and alumni recognize the Briggs Impact, and we are thankful for their support.”
-Michele H. Jackson, Dean and Professor

cience Bash
Science Bash is coming to Holmes Hall on April 23rd during the Research Symposium! Put on by LBC Career Services Career Consultant Ed Tillett, Science Bash is an opportunity for our Lyman Briggs students to explore careers in science by talking directly to employers. While attending Science Bash, students are able to learn about the vast amount of opportunities that exist, while some might even land an internship, or a full time job during these interactions. This is also an opportunity for employers to see the amazing talent of our Lyman Briggs students presenting their research during the Research Symposium. If you’re interesting in supporting this event, or if you work for an employer who might be interested in attending this event, please contact Ed Tillett at

Undergraduate Research Symposium
|
|
This spring Lyman Briggs College will host the 13
th
Annual LBC Research Symposium. The Lyman Briggs Research Symposium is a yearly college wide event where students and faculty have the opportunity to present their research to the entire Briggs community.
Through poster and oral presentations, students and faculty share the results of research projects from independent research, honors option projects and classroom projects. Last year we had over 300 presentations that involved over 1000 students from a wide range of classes, including both science and HPS. This year’s LBC Research Symposium is once again generously supported by MSUFCU.
The 2019 Symposium will take place Monday through Thursday of the final week of spring classes (April 22-25). The MSUFCU Poster Session will be
Tuesday
April 23.
Lyman Briggs alumni and friends are welcome to attend and participate in the symposium as judges and in other ways. Watch for more information and details to come your way in the near future.
