We Love to Read
Literacy Day is an event when we celebrate our love for reading, and practice reading and writing skills. This year it will take place during the school day on Thursday, February 14, in the afternoon for all K-3 students. Be on the lookout for a Literacy Day packet in your K-3 student's homework folders. It contains fun and interactive reading activities to incorporate at home, as well as some helpful information for parents on how to support your growing reader.
Be a Reading Superstar!
The AR reading challenge is on! Shepherd students, get reading! Our school is competing against other Lutheran schools by grade level to see who will read the most between now and March 8th. Parents, you can be involved. You can read to your student and then he or she can take the AR test the next day at school. So, put your reading caps on and READ!

And the Results Are...
God has blessed Shepherd over the past few years by allowing us to participate in several programs to give us third source funding.  Specifically, on the average, Box Tops proceeds are $1,000 and Street Smarts $425, per school year. Keep on turning in Box Tops to the office or into the classroom boxes to win a party! Also, when deciding where to shop, consider The Streets of SouthGlenn for Street Smarts points. You can also submit SouthGlenn receipts dated back to August 15, 2018. Let's make this year the best yet to help our school budget!
