LET'S FINISH THE FISCAL YEAR STRONG!

Thank you so much for your faithful giving to Valley Ranch Baptist Church. The fiscal year end for VRBC is quickly approaching on September 30 and we have met $3,016,542 of the $3,143,000 budget. Your generosity has allowed VRBC ministries to remain strong throughout the year and to grow in furthering the kingdom of God. Please join us in finishing this year strong and beginning an exciting new year fully equipped to accomplish what God is calling us to do. We are grateful for you!

EXPLORE MEMBERSHIP LUNCH
SUNDAY | SEPTEMBER 30 | 12:15 PM

There are many benefits to becoming a VRBC church member! If you or someone you know would like to learn more about church membership, come to the Explore Membership Lunch on Sunday, September 30, at 12:15 pm in the Seminar Room. It is THE BEST way to find out what VRBC is all about! At the lunch, we will share a delicious meal together, get to know each other a bit better, and then listen as church leaders talk about what it means to be a VRBC member. Lunch is FREE, and childcare is available, if reserved in advance. To RSVP or find out more, email John Hewlett at [email protected].
VRBC'S ESL MINISTRY
SERVE OPPORTUNITIES

VRBC's ESL ministry is off to a great start this fall! God is bringing an unprecedented number of students, and we have DOUBLED our attendance since last year! After the first week of class, we had a record 130 registered and 108 in attendance. Several of our classes are averaging about 25 students per class, and our ESL children's ministry is almost filled to capacity. Please join us in thanking God for this tremendous opportunity to reach families from so many different countries!

SERVE OPPORTUNITIES
We would love for you to come and be part of what God is doing through ESL. There are opportunities for you to teach once a week, be a substitute teacher as needed, serve in our ESL childcare, or help with greeting students as they arrive for class. If you'd like to come try it once before you commit to serving on a regular basis, just let us know. Training is available.

We are also looking for people who are willing to host ESL students and their families in your home for a Culture Night, where you can serve American snacks, teach American games, and practice conversation. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Arthur Mendes at  [email protected]
CHILDREN'S CHOIRS
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS | 6:00 TO 7:00 PM

COOL CHOIR CLUB
Kids in first through fifth grade will have fun learning to worship God through music, learning more about Jesus, and sharing His love with others. This choir will have several performances during the school year, highlighted with a spring musical. Work on the musical will begin in the fall.

CHURCH LEADERSHIP NOMINATIONS
NOMINATIONS DUE OCTOBER 10

The Ministry Placement Committee is now accepting nominations for the Church Leadership Candidate Group. This group will be the source of candidates for:
  • Church Council
  • Ministry Placement Committee
  • Finance/Human Resource Committee
  • Deacons
Self-nominations are a vital part of creating our Church Leadership Candidate Group. If you are interested in serving in some capacity, please review the applicable commitment form and qualifications. You may then email Jordan Schumacher at [email protected]  with your self-nomination, along with where you would like to serve (Church Council, Deacon, etc.). Additionally, if you know of someone who would make a good candidate for the Church Leadership Candidate Group, please encourage him or her to complete the self-nomination process. Nominations should be submitted by October 10.

The Ministry Placement Team, in conjunction with the current Deacons and Church Council, will use the self-nominations, along with nominations from Church Council, Deacons, Grow Group leaders, and church ministerial staff, to recommend final nominees to Church Council. Church Council will use the list of nominees to develop a final slate for presentation to church members for approval and vote.

For a complete description of roles, responsibilities, and qualifications, please refer to the VRBC Bylaws at vrbc.net/bylaws.
