Camden Reports

Partners of the Camden Collaborative Initiative, including  Cooper's Ferry Partnership , have created a unique website --  Camden Reports  -- that gives Camden residents the opportunity to help eliminate flooding and illegal dumping in the city by  reporting incidents in real time .

Member Highlights

The  US Water Alliance has released the results from the One Water for America Listening Session , which are organized into "7 Big Ideas" for the sustainable management of water. The session was based on the question: how do we create a new era of water management in America -- one that secures economic, environmental, and community well-being?


Newark DIG
 and  CivicStory  have published a four-minute video on the current state and importance of water infrastructure in Newark.  The video features  City of Newark  officials, including Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Nathaly Agosto Filiόn, and Andrea Hall Adebowale, as well as representatives from  Clean Water Action  and D.M. De Nose.

Thirty-six organizations have released a Year One Clean Water Agenda for the Murphy Administration
, a set of seven recommended actions to assist Governor-elect Murphy's administration with water infrastructure challenges and solutions in 2018.

Sustainable Jersey was honored with the 2017 Governor's Environmental Excellence Award for its work providing input to local governments, schools, and districts on how to make their communities better environmental stewards by improving sustainability and resiliency. 

The City of Jersey City's Office of Innovation has published Year 2 in Review , an online flipbook reporting the City's 2017 efforts to reduce flooding and limit pollution of waterways.


The 
Landis Sewerage Authority  in Vineland was one of two public category nominations honored by the 2017 New Jersey One Water Awards in the public category. The Authority was chosen for its facility-wide programs and operating practices , w hich foster sustainability, collaboration with the local community, and public education opportunities.

The lot next to the 
Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority (CCMUA) wastewater treatment plant has been converted from a derelict industrial site into a new waterfront park. The final portion of  Phoenix Park in Camden  officially opened on Dec. 12, offering the public access to the water for the first time in decades.  Andrew Kricun , CCMUA's executive director and Jersey Water Works Steering Committee member, was graciously acknowledged at the ribbon-cutting for his work in seeing Phoenix Park fully realized.

Our Water Transformed: An Action Agenda for New Jersey's Water Infrastructure is based on a strategic planning process undertaken by the collaborative's Steering Committee. The committee identified three priority solutions for transforming New Jersey's inadequate water infrastructure:
  1. Robust asset management
  2. Educated stakeholders
  3. Innovative funding initiatives

New Resources 

Educational resources on water infrastructure for inside and outside of school
. This collection of videos, worksheets, games, and more was developed by the Jersey Water Works Community Engagement Committee.
Social media toolkit on water infrastructure . This compilation of memes, posts, and tweets was developed by the Jersey Water Works Community Engagement Committee. It can be used to raise awareness about water pollution, flooding, and runoff, as well as the need for water infrastructure investment.



CSO Solutions: Impact of Proper Maintenance of Combined-Sewer Overflow System on Flooding in the City of Camden . Developed by the Jersey Water Works Best Practices Committee, this fact sheet presents findings from a case study commissioned by the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority.

A Resource Guide to Planning, Designing and Implementing Green Infrastructure in Parks The National Recreation and Park Association, in cooperation with the American Planning Association and the Low Impact Development Center, has produced a suite of downloadable resources including  a resource guide,  three briefing papers,  and four case studies.

Requirements: A master's degree or doctorate in the fields of environmental science, natural resources, environmental engineering, or related field; a strong background in estuarine or coastal science and urban ecosystems; and at least five years of professional experience. 

Senior Planner/ Engineer (American Water)
American Water is seeking a team lead to provide technical expertise and project management supervision. This position is responsible for evaluating water and wastewater systems and recommending system upgrades.

Agricultural Outreach Specialist  (North Jersey Resource Conservation & Development Program)
The North Jersey RC&D seeks a positive, detail-oriented, and collaborative candidate to join its team. The agricultural outreach specialist will work closely with the associate director and agricultural specialist in promoting conservation and implementing agricultural best management practices in the region.
