Giving Back to the Community
It’s the time of year for giving, and we are thankful that city staff  share that spirit.

Thanks to the generosity of  Aroma Joe's Coffee  in Saco and donations from the community, Sgt. Cote and Chief Clements of the Saco Police Department delivered non-perishable goods to the  Saco Food Pantry  earlier this week. The Food Pantry is always looking for volunteers. Please contact them at (207)468-1305 to get help!

The community came together November 21st at the  Saco Parks & Recreation Department 's 7th annual SENIORity Thanksgiving feast, with over 150 people sharing eight 25-pound turkeys, 60 pounds of squash, 60 pounds of potatoes, 25 pies, and more!

The Thanksgiving feast is one of the perks of a SENIORity membership. Sign up for one today at www.sacorec.com.
Saco's New Compost Program
A new drop-off compost program is coming to the Saco Community Center at 75 Franklin Street ( Saco Parks & Recreation Department ) starting in December.

Organized by  Saco Public Works Garbage To Garden  compost bins will be available for Saco residents to drop off compostable items any day of the week. The food scraps will be composted at a local farm.

Composting can help you save money on trash removal by reducing volume and weight, and reduces the amount of waste sent to the landfill.

You can get a compost bucket today by contacting Amy Oliver at (207)284-6641 or AOliver@sacomaine.org.
