Parent Newsletter: 11/5/2018
An Update from the Headmaster
  • Fall Sports Wind Down: We are extremely proud of all our fall athletes, their teams, and their overall accomplishments this year. We had a number of our teams (and individuals) do well in our section in cross country, girls soccer, volleyball, and football. Our boys soccer team gave an excellent effort as well this year. Our football team ended its season this past Friday night with a loss to Minneapolis North in the section finals—the Aggies held their opponents to the fewest points of their season! Congratulations to all our fall athletes and teams! Thank you to all our fans for supporting their fellow Aggies.

  • 2018 Ford Explorer SUV Raffle Coming: Our one and only all school fundraiser is quickly approaching. You will receive a letter in the mail this week outlining the details and requirements for our families to make this year’s fundraiser a success. Last year there was much excitement for the weekly incentive drawings, and we expect to see that again this year!

  • Alumni Photo Project: Please take a look at the hallway walls on floors 1, 2, and 3 of the building (mainly in Gruden) for class photographs of Saint Agnes Alumni from the classes of 1949-2018. Group class photos of 1942-1948 will also be hung soon, so stop by and find pictures of your relatives from previous graduating classes!

Come learn from a national expert the insider tips that will greatly enhance your understanding of the college process, reduce anxiety and position your child for success. The presentation will cover how to avoid mistakes many families make when trying to identify colleges that are truly the right fit, a behind-the-scenes view of how financial aid really works, actionable strategies to save thousands of dollars and tips for working with your teenager on a stressful and emotional process.
An absolute must-see for parents with students in grades 9-11! Join us in the Helene Houle Auditorium at 7:00 PM for this presentation. College Inside Track is a private company with a mission to help families successfully navigate the college process and be smart consumers of the college purchase.

Congratulations to the Aggie football team on their runner-up finish in section 4AA. The team trailed Minneapolis North 8-0 at halftime but eventually lost 28-0. The Aggie defense held North to their lowest point total all year. It was the first time Saint Agnes has reached the section finals since 2007 when they lost to Royalton. The football team finished the season 7-4. Senior running back Terrell Jones finished the season rushing for over 2200 yards and 29 touchdowns putting him among the top 8 in the State in each of those categories.

Children's Holy Hour
Father Moriarty has given families the 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM hour during Friday Adoration as a Children's Holy Hour. This means you can bring your restless children to adoration every Friday and not worry if they make a little noise or run around a pew. Families also have access to Schuler Hall from 12:00-1:00 PM to hang out and eat lunch (bring your own) as long as there is not a funeral lunch. Catholic coloring pages and crayons are available for everyone in the chapel. Please feel free to bring saint books, children's Bibles, rosaries, and other items for your children.
Jesus wants the little children in His presence learning how to pray and love Him. Please  sign up here  if you would like to be kept updated regarding schedule changes or substitute requests. Check out  Father Moriarty's Pastor's Column from July 1  , in which he offers encouraging words about how bringing children to adoration can be fruitful for our school and parish families!
