Tacot for Sukkot - Sukkot Zimrah
Opening Day of Religious School this Sunday, September 23
Fall is, without any doubt, my favorite season: college football is in full swing, everything is pumpkin-flavored, and the sounds of the shofar call us to return home. We are overjoyed to welcome everyone home this weekend as we kick off another wonderful year of Religious School.

Opening Day of Religious School this Sunday, September 23 on Erev Sukkot!

  • 4pm in the Sanctuary - meet your child(ren)'s teachers, learn about class curriculum, sign up for activities and more!

  • At 5:30, join us in the Sukkah for Sukkot Zimrah and tacos!
Parashat Vayelech, Kol Nidre & Yom Kippur
By: Rabbi Stanley M. Davids
Shana Tova, my friends across the globe.  Shana Metukah – a sweet year. And G’mar Chatimah Tova – may you be sealed in the Book of Life for a good year. And Tzom Kal – Have an easy fast.

All ways to indicate that on this coming Tuesday evening, Jews everywhere will be gathering in unprecedented numbers to listen to, to resonate with, the sounds of KOL NIDRE, and thus begin the observance of that annual SHABBAT SHABBATON, that Sabbath of Sabbaths, known as Yom Kippur.
There have been many studies that have explored the musical settings of Kol Nidre. We are told that, “it belongs to the mi-sinai tune tradition – a group of fixed seasonal leitmotifs and melodies whose origin dates to the medieval Rhineland communities, and which constitutes a bedrock layer of Minhag Ashkenaz, or Ashkenazi custom. It combines syllabic chanting with melismatic passages.”

Parking for Sukkot: Sukkah Building Begins September 20th

Please be advised that we will be building our newly enlarged Sukkah the day after Yom Kippur on Thursday, September 20th. The Sukkah will be up through Atzeret Simchat Torah on Tuesday, October 2 nd . We will be placing a number of orange cones in parking lot spaces to accommodate the Sukkah and new traffic patterns during this time. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN ANY OF THESE SPACES as we are concerned for everyone’s safety getting in and out of the Sukkah. Thank you for your help and we hope to see you at one of our Sukkot or Simchat Torah services and programs.
