This year, St. Paul's Church School is using the Hearts Alive
curriculum, which organizes classes into three classes: Pre-K and Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, and Grades 4-6. The aim is to give our youngest parishioners more structured lessons for learning the Bible's great stories while keeping our relaxed and friendly environment.
Children can feel free to drop into church school any week, as the lessons are non-cumulative. Parents, you are always welcome to sit in on the classes if that makes your child more comfortable.

Sunday, October 7th, will be a group activity, and volunteers are needed to lead to this activity! A lesson and game ideas will be provided. Please contact Rachel Miller at  [email protected] if you are interested in helping with the group activity, have questions about which class is appropriate for your child, or are interested in teaching this year.

MERRIMACK VALLEY DISASTER RELIEF

MERRIMACK VALLEY DISASTER RELIEF

Bishops Alan Gates and Gail Harris are asking all congregations in the diocese to consider designating or collecting an offering in support of a diocesan relief response.  Those offerings should be made payable to: the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and marked "Merrimack Valley Disaster Relief."  Contributions may be sent to the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, Attn: Lauren Zook, 138 Tremont Street, Boston MA 02111.

"The prayers and concern of our entire diocesan family are with those in the Merrimack Valley communities affected by this disaster," Bishop Alan M. Gates said on Friday morning.  "Bishop Gayle Harris and I, together with regional canon Martha Hubbard, have been directly in contact with the clergy of our parishes in those communities and our colleagues at Esperanza Academy.  A number of their families have been directly affected, together with countless others who will need our support in the weeks ahead.  I invite from all corners of the diocese your continuing prayers and contributions toward relief efforts."

SCAM ALERT!

Residents of Dedham are being targeted by phone scammers.

Many of these threats are directed toward Senior Citizens. Scams range from solicitors "selling" items and asking
for your credit card information to others pretending to be grandchildren who have been arrested and are in need of bail money and still more calling on behalf of false charities to help those areas such as Merrimack Valley and the southern region of our country who have recently experienced disasters. Please be aware when answering your phone that the person on the other end may be targeting you for money and may not be honest.

REFUGEE FAMILY ALERT!

Ideal specs:
3BR (or 2BR with large living room) in Dedham, Norwood, Hyde Park, Roslindale, West Roxbury, or Jamaica Plain.

England, 1976. Mrs. Creasy is missing and the Avenue is alive with whispers. The neighbors blame her sudden disappearance on the heat wave, but ten-year-olds Grace and Tilly aren't convinced, and decide to take matters into their own hands.

Spunky, spirited Grace and quiet, thoughtful Tilly go door to door in search of clues. The cul-de-sac starts to give up its secrets, and the amateur detectives uncover more than they ever imagined. A complicated history of deception begins to emerge-everyone on the Avenue has something to hide.

    formal way of preparation?

If you answered YES to any of these questions the Adult Inquirer's Course is for you.
Beginning Sunday, October 14th , we will gather in the Vestry Room, following a brief interlude at the Fellowship Hour, to explore more deeply our Anglican faith and tradition.
