PRESIDENT'S COLUMN
POLITICAL SEASON IS HERE
Chris Winkle
KBA President/CEO
@kbachris
Before I dive into the reason for this column, I wanted to address some of your concerns related to Governor Matt Bevin’s voice appearing on current PEP campaigns. After a thorough vetting by our legal team, it should be noted that while Governor Bevin has announced his intent to run for a second term , he has not formally filed the required documents to become a legally qualified candidate. The primary election filing window will open in January. Those spots will be replaced in advance of that window.

With the general election just around the corner and political ads running in high gear, I am painfully reminded that political advertising rules and requirements can be murky water to navigate. Our friends at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP have released a comprehensive publication detailing all things related to political advertising. Please print and share with your entire staff.
