May Community Service Event

Habitat for Humanity Build
Tukwila, WA

Habitat for Humanity provides affordable homes for families.  
Unfortunately, the build we had planned in Sammamish is not available this month, but we will instead volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity Store assisting with a variety of roles including donations, customer service, metals recycling, and social media. 
 
If you plan to volunteer, please RSVP by May 12th to Kristina at nalani83@gmail.com .  When responding, please indicate if you need or could provide a carpool.
Professional Development Webinar
Tuesday, May 23rd @ 12pm to 1pm

This upcoming webinar will be free and will provide informative career advice to young professionals. Participants will be able to e-mail Anthony Fasano questions that will be answered at the end of the webinar.

WA Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Special Seminar

WA State Convention Center  

ACI's seminar topic is Concrete Structures - Innovations in Design, Construction, & Materials.

You can join the ACI for an informative half day seminar on State-of-the-Art structural design, high performance concrete materials, lean construction methods, and sustainable practices. The seminar four speakers are leaders in the concrete industry in their respective specialties. The presenters are Cary Kopczynski of CKC, Andreas Tselebides of BASF, Chris Plue of Webcor Builders and James Salazar of Athena Sustainable Materials Institute. Want to learn more?

Emerging Leaders Alliance (ELA) - Accepting Applications until July 1st
November 5th - 8th, 2017
Westin Tysons Corner in Falls Church, Virginia

 
The ELA hosts an annual interdisciplinary leadership conference, providing training in topics such as social styles, leading innovation, global and virtual team leadership, and more. The Conference is an exciting opportunity to participate in hands-on leadership training with members of leading engineering, research, and scientific organizations.  

Each year ASCE selects members to attend the Emerging Leaders Alliance conference as representatives of ASCE. Desired applicant is someone who earned a BS in an Engineering field between 3-12 years ago and is an Associate or Member of ASCE. Selected applicants receive a complimentary conference registration, but are responsible for travel expenses and lodging.
