Important! 11:15 Today: Forum on Faith and Finances Christ Church is a gem: a welcoming, loving, joyful Christian community, and the hub of many worship, ministry, and service activities. We are a financially sound organization, but as is true of many congregations, balancing our budget is a growing challenge. How can we enrich all we do today and build for tomorrow? The Vestry invites you to attend the Faith & Finance forum following coffee hour downstairs. After a brief presentation on the funding behind our multitude of ministries, you will be invited to join the brainstorming on how we can be even stronger and more effective in 2019.

Ministry Reports for the Annual Meeting Due Next Week Our Annual Meeting is just a few weeks away on March 3, but reports from each ministry area are due to the office next week February 15!!! If you coordinate a ministry area in the church, please be sure to submit your information by Friday the 15th. Questions? Please contact Peter Hanke, our Parish Administrator, at [email protected] .

YOU ROCKED THE SOCKS! Thank you to everyone who brought in socks for Bethesda Cares. Together we donated 284 pairs, which will be given to our homeless and struggling neighbors in Montgomery County.

Sunday School & Children's Ministry Programs Miss Mary is extending the coverage times for our Nursery. The new hours are 9:45 AM - 12:15 PM. This Sunday, our 10 AM Chapel with Miss Ann and Cindy Winder, and our education programs, which immediately follow the 10 AM Service, will focus on Jesus' invitation to become fishers of people. Through games, drama, and some research on what it meant to be a rabbi in Jesus' time, students in Grades 1-3 and Grades 4&5 will take different routes as they explore Luke's Gospel with Stephanie Feller and John Ward. Our Godly Play students will hear the story of Jesus' Being Found in the Temple as they learn with Andrea Dorf how much Jesus wants them to love God's Holy Word.

This year's youth mission trip Any rising 9th graders and above who are interested in doing hurricane relief work in North Carolina this summer should email Madi ([email protected]) no later than Sunday, February 24th. Feel free to send her your questions about the trip as well.

Thank you to everyone who ordered chili! Folks were particularly generous this year - after factoring material costs and donations, the youth raised an astounding $1,200 for their mission trip! This money will completely cover the cost of one of the fifteen-passenger vans that they need to get to North Carolina and back. Stay tuned for their spring car wash!

Youth Group This week's youth group will be split. We're learning about people who survived slavery in honor of Black History Month. The Gathering (6th-7th grade): Come join Kitty to learn about Absalom Jones, America's first black clergyman. The Loft (8th-12th grade): Come on up to the Loft to learn more about Sojourner Truth and her courage in the face of adversity.

Bible Study at 4PM Today All are welcome! No prior preparation is necessary and feel free to drop in any week. Questions? Please contact Lee Puricelli ([email protected])

Please Help - Outreach Support for Heifer International Christ Church Sunday School has been supporting the mission of Heifer International for over 20 years. Your donations to Heifer by feeding "Agnes the Lamb" on the Outreach table provides not only breeding animals, but education, seeds and even bees to families and villages. We have been able to fund ducks, chickens, cows, lambs and seeds in the past, even bees! So please donate so we can continue to "Pass the Gift" and make a difference! Heifer Int'l envelopes can be found in the back of the church.

Endowment Fund Grants for Ministries at Christ Church The Planned Giving and Endowment Committee invite you to submit an application for a Mission Ministry Grant for 2019. Please contact Peter Hanke at [email protected] for an application form and instructions for the grant program. The committee will receive applications through February 20th and will announce
awards soon thereafter.
