Meet the New Leadership of the Art Colony

Lyla Brown, Executive Director
Ruth Pszwaro, Artistic Director
The Art Colony is pleased to announce it will be moving into a co-directorship model. Ruth Pszwaro, previous Program Director, has already taken on the new role of Artistic Director and has served as Interim Executive Director since July.

Lyla Brown will join Pszwaro as co-director and take on the role of Executive Director on November 16. Brown comes to Cook County from Kent County, Maryland. Her experience has focused on a variety of issue areas, such as housing, civic engagement, land conservation, youth development and human services through leadership roles in nonprofits and international development over the past 20 years.

Together, the co-directors will manage operations, guide the board of directors, and lead strategic planning.

" Collectively, we have many hopes and aspirations and we invite the community to celebrate with us as we move forward. " – Art Colony Board of Directors

Attention Current and Future Business Partners and Community Partners!
A core Art Colony belief is that art allows residents to connect with visitors and each other, which in turn builds a healthier, more resilient community. It takes generous partners like you to see this through. See our amazing 2018 partners who have supported the Art Colony, and have supported the vision of Grand Marais as a thriving artistic community.

The Art Colony welcomes local, regional, and national partnerships. Watch your mailboxes for the 2019 Business Partnership information packet outlining all of the great benefits we offer our partners as well. Partner commitments are due on November 30,2018. Or, if you are not yet but would like to become a partnering organization, contact Kathi Polley at 218-387-2737 to discuss!
