ANNOUNCEMENTS
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2018
  • 2018 Woodland-Ramay commemorative game stickers are available for $1 in the Woodland Warehouse school store. Supplies are limited!
  • Mrs. Wendt and Mrs. Eason wish to thank all of the students who showed an interest in Quiz Bowl and tried out for the team. Kudos to all! The results of the knowledge and buzzer tests have placed the following students on the Woodland 2018-19 Quiz Bowl Team: Janet Fu, Cameron Caston, Rian Cosey, Keming Meng, Joseph Lo, Kolt Burton, Davidson Landers and Zach Claesen. These students should plan to attend the first practice Mon., Dept. 25 from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
  • Odyssey of the Mind: Several students took applications but few turned them back in. If they want to be on Woodland's 2018-19 OM team, completed forms should be placed in the designated spot outside D-13 by Friday.
  • NJHS will hold their next meeting Tues., Sept. 25 during lunch in D-1. Students should bring their lunch and be ready to plan service projects with their small group and learn about other service opportunities here at school.
  • If you have not completed and returned your back-to-school paperwork, please do so! This paperwork is required. Students can bring it to the front office or to their advisory teacher.
  • NO SCHOOL Fri., Sept. 28 due to a school inservice day.
Woodland Students Begin Literacy Events

Through an investment by Tyson Foods and Fayetteville Public Education Foundation, our students at Woodland and Ramay will begin literacy events that will encourage them to become more engaged in reading.

Students will read The Crossover, a novel by Kwame Alexander that mixes basketball with family and coming-of-age themes to tell an uplifting story. The project will culminate with a school SKYPE presentation by Alexander in November to discuss his book with students.

We want to make sure all students (7th and 8th) are provided a copy of The Crossover to keep and take home. Please consider making a gift to ensure all Ramay and Woodland students have their own copy!

Chipotle Spirit Night

Mark your calendars and take dinner off your to-do list next Tues., Sept. 25th!

Chipotle will host Woodland's second spirit night of the year at their location at 3379 North College from 5-9:00 p.m. Tell the cashier you are supporting Woodland Junior High School to make sure 33% of the proceeds will be donated to Woodland!
Cowboys Win Against Ramay
Woodland Cowboys won big last night against rival, Ramay Indians! A school-wide pep rally was held at Woodland yesterday afternoon, and the momentum was carried to the field yesterday evening. The 8th grade football team won 35-0, and the 7th grade team won 22-0. Great team work!
