Student Debt and the Class of 2017 [PDF]

The Institute for College Access & Success (September 2018)

Data published by TICAS shows that in Michigan, of those Class of 2017 graduates of all public and private institutions who held student debt, that debt averaged $31,289, ranking 11 ^th highest in the nation. 58% of the class held debt, leaving the remaining 42% debt-free. However, due to TICAS's methodology, community colleges that offer a single technical baccalaureate degree are included as public universities, skewing the results.
