Do you have a positive leadership style?
  
Your leadership style - whether positive or negative - matters more than you realize.  A recent study by The Alternative Board , surveying hundreds of entrepreneurs worldwide, uncovered "positivity" as being the single most important leadership quality.  Positive energy in your chapter does not happen automatically.   Someone must start and that someone is YOU - leaders must go first!   

Positive leaders don't sit back and wait for things to happen on their own.  You don't have to have a positive attitude to have a leadership role in your chapter or to lead, but you must have a positive attitude to lead the chapter successfully.  Good leaders know that. 

1. Show interest in your chapter members' personal lives.
2. Forgive mistakes without placing blame.
3. Treat members with trust, respect, integrity, and gratitude.
4. Cultivate communications and friendy environment at chapter meetings and events.
5. Focus on the  meaning of chapter projects.
6. Use language that is positive rather than critical and negative.
7. Be demanding but not demeaning. 
 
 Research shows that emotions are contagious and that people will get more done in a positive environment.  Be a leader with a positive attitude and good things will happen!
