Shell gets approval of Ambridge Water Authority for ethane pipeline

Post-gazette.com, January 17, 2019: Shell Pipeline Co. and the Ambridge Water Authority have settled on a series of measures that the pipeline company will take to protect the source of water for almost 30,000 Beaver County customers. At issue is a 97-mile ethane pipeline that Shell will build to bring the natural gas liquid from processing plants in Washington County and Ohio to its petrochemical complex in Potter Township. Emerson offers automation training solution for industrial workers

Gasworld.com, January 17, 2019: Global manufacturing and technology company Emerson has introduced the Performance Learning Platform, a technology training solution that enables hands-on training to prepare workers to maintain their plant safely and efficiently.  The platform highlights the skills essential to fostering digital transformation, whilst helping to close the workforce skills gap. Emerson's collaboration with both the private industry and high education has revealed an urgent need to address the gap in digital technologies. According to a 2018 Manufacturing Institute Study, the skills gap may leave an estimated 2.4 million positions unfilled between 2018 and 2028. "We designed the Performance Learning Platform as a flexible, hands-on training tool with real-world instrumentation that will help bridge a critical knowledge and skills gap that continues to challenge the industry," said Jeff Hackney, Global Educational Services Director for Emerson's Automation Solutions business.    Read more...

Russian nuclear firm wins contracts to clean up Fukushima

Rt.com, January 14, 2019: Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom will help Japan in handling the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant (NPP) and will be engaged in the nuclear control plan, according to the company's CEO Aleksey Likhachev. "We have been engaged by Japan to implement the nuclear accident management plan at the Fukushima NPP. We have won two tenders and are going ahead," Likhachev told Russia-24 news channel. In September 2017, Rosatom's First Deputy CEO Kirill Komarov said that Rosatom offered their Japanese counterparts assistance in cleaning up at the Fukushima NPP and in decommissioning other unsafe nuclear power plants.  Read more...
Russian Firm to Invest in Pakistan's Water

Business-standard.com, January 17, 2019: A Russian state-run firm has offered to invest $2 billion in cash-strapped Pakistan's water and power sectors on a government-to-government basis, a media report said Thursday. Representatives of Inter RAO Engineering, one of the largest Russian public energy companies having joint ventures with European companies like Siemens, met the Water and Power Development Authority officials in November and offered to invest $2 billion, The Express Tribune reported.  Read more...
U.S. ethane company with Russian ties set to break into Chinese market 

Houstonchronicle.com, January 15, 2019: America's first ethane exports to China could go through Beaumont. A Houston company, with majority Russian ownership, plans to ship about 7.2 million tons of ethane a year to China under 20-year-contracts valued at $72 billion after completing a massive export terminal in the Gulf Coast city of about 120,000. The company, American Ethane Co., and Martin Midstream Partners on Monday broke ground on a $1.5 billion expansion of Martin's Neches River export terminal in Beaumont.  Read more...
Saudi Aramco Interested in Buying into Russia's LNG Project

En.trend.az, January 17, 2019: The Russian sovereign wealth fund RDIF said on Wednesday it was poised to significantly increase its number of investment deals with Saudi Arabia, Trend reports referring to  Al Arabiya. Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the fund, met Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih and other Saudi officials in Riyadh to discuss projects in oil refining, petrochemicals, gas chemicals and oilfield services, among other fields, RDIF said in a statement.er ofinvestment deals with Saudi Arabia, Trend reports referring to  Al ArabiyaRead more...
Rosatom, Russia's Nuclear Firm to Offer Scholarships for African Students

Citizen.co.za, January 15, 2019: They will cover tuition and, partly, living expenses.
Russian nuclear energy giant Rosatom has announced scholarships for nuclear science studies for African students. Applications, it said, were open and available for graduate and undergraduate programmes in nuclear research and engineering at leading universities in the Russian Federation "to help develop the next generation of African nuclear scientists and engineers".  Read more...
Russia to Build 'LNG Island' to Supply Asian Market

Oilprice.com, January 15, 2019: While Russia's gas giant Gazprom is working to complete the Power of Siberia  gas pipelineexpected to begin delivering gas to China in December 2019, another Russian company-the country's biggest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Novatek-is looking to boost LNG supply to the growing Asian market. While it continues to keep more than a third of the European gas market with pipeline gas supply, Russia is also increasingly looking east and aiming to take a larger portion of the booming Asian LNG demand, led by China.  Read more...
The First Wind Farm Under Fortum and Rusnano

Renews.biz, January 15, 2019: The first wind farm developed under a joint venture between Finnish energy company Fortum and Rusnano has started operation in Ulyanovsk, western Russia.  The 50MW plant, owned by the Fortum-Rusnano wind investment fund, is part of a total of 1823MW awarded in the 2017 and 2018 Russian wind auctions.  Read more...
Russia Supports Bolivia in Training Nuclear Specialists

Plenglish.com, January 17, 2019: La Paz, Jan 17 (Prensa Latina) Russia''s State Nuclear Energy Corporation (Rosatom) and the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education invited Bolivian students to participate in a training program for professionals in this field. Russia invites students to participate in the scholarship program to specialize in nuclear and related technologies at the best Russian universities, highlights the article delivered to Prensa Latina by Rosatom's representative in Bolivia, Alexei Chernyshev.  Scholarships, it said, cover the full cost of the chosen program and include Russian language learning.  Read more...

Baku Hosts International Bee Conference

Azernews.az, January 16, 2019: The 5th Azerbaijan International Conference of Beekeepers will be held in Baku on January 26-27, Trend reports with reference to the Agriculture Ministry. Representatives from Germany, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Georgia will come to share their experience with local beekeepers. The representatives of relevant government agencies, public associations and businessmen will also attend the event. The conference will discuss issues of preventing bee diseases, increasing the yield in beekeeping, supplying beekeeper products to local and foreign markets.  Read more...

Buta Airways to launch direct flights to Astrakhan starting from May

En.trend.az, January 16, 2019: Starting from May 16, 2019, the low-cost airline Buta Airways will launch direct flights to another Russian city - Astrakhan, the press service of Buta Airways told Trend Jan. 16. Astrakhan will be the fifth destination of the low-cost airline in Russia. The airline is already operating regular flights from Baku to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Mineralnye Vody. The minimum fare for Baku-Astrakhan flight (IATA:ASF) like for other destinations of the Airline, will cost 29 euros (one way). ЦБ оценил профицит внешней торговли России в 2018 году в $194,4 млрд

Rns.online, 17 января, 2019: Профицит внешней торговли России в 2018 году вырос в 1,7 раза по сравнению с 2017 годом - до $194,4 млрд, следует из сообщения Банка России. «В составе торгового баланса заметно выросли стоимостные объемы экспорта топливно-энергетических товаров на фоне улучшения международной ценовой конъюнктуры, в то время как рост товарного импорта замедлился главным образом за счет снижения ввоза товаров во второй половине года по сравнению с аналогичным периодом годом ранее», - говорится в сообщении.  Читать далее...
Россия увеличила экспорт продукции АПК в 2018 году на 20%

Торгпред уверен, что Россия выйдет на экспорт рыбопродукции в Бельгию
