A Letter from the Search Committee:

Over the past year and a half, the St. Andrew's Rector Search Committee has worked tirelessly to represent all facets of this parish as we searched for our new half-time Rector. We listened to input from parishioners, read applications, conducted interviews, and visited candidates. It has been a long process - which was not always easy - but we persevered, and today I have some very good news to share with you! On behalf of the committee, whose members wish they could all be here today, I'd like to announce that we have selected a new Rector for St. Andrew's: Reverend Kevin Sparrow.

He is originally from Georgia and worked for some time in the Peace Corps before becoming ordained at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco in 2012. Kevin has valuable experience with fundraising and enjoys working with all ages in Christian formation as well as pastoral care. He has all the important qualities to meet the needs of St. Andrew's today and also to help us grow into the future. Kevin is compassionate and funny and he and his husband, Eric, are very excited to be joining us here at St. Andrews to continue God’s work.

Please join with us and the Vestry in welcoming him here in mid-October.
Peace, Becky Maki

So, with the welcoming of our new pastor, we must say "Goodbye" to Rev. Jan.
Join us as we celebrate Rev. Jan's time with us and all she has brought to our St. Andrew's Family:

Dear Members of the St. Andrew's Family,

As you know, Reverend Jan Walden will conclude her service with us on Sunday, October 14. She has been serving as our priest since April 1, 2017, as we conducted our search for a permanent priest.  Jan has led our Sunday services, started a prayer shawl knitting group, worked with our confirmation classes, and provided pastoral care, among other responsibilities.

As part of the parish's thank you to Jan, on Sunday, October 14, between the 8 am and 10 am service s, we will have a pot luck breakfast .  If you wish to make a donation to the gifts we have planned for Rev. Jan, please either send a check with "Reverend Jan" noted on the memo line to the church office, or drop off a check or cash donation between 9-1 Monday - Thursday when the church office is open.

If you are able to assist with coordinating the pot luck breakfast, or have additional gift ideas, please email Sue Coyne. Sue is coordinating the event and her email is:   s.e.coyne@att.net

We hope to see you on Sunday, October 14th, as we thank Reverend Jan for her service!

Thank you,
Brian Joyce
Warden

HOW YOU CAN HELP IN A TIME OF NEED:

Merrimack Valley Disaster Relief

From September 23rd until October 14th, all loose plate offerings (cash and checks) will be donated to the Episocpal Diocese of Massachusetts fund to help all those affecting by the gas explosions and fires in the Merrimack Valley.

EDR Hurricane Florence Relief

Episcopal Relief & Development is now supporting dioceses along the coast as they respond to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. Contributions to the  Hurricane Relief Fund  will help Episcopal Relief & Development support Church and other local partners as they provide critical emergency assistance to those most in need.
Please continue to pray for all those impacted by these devastating events, for those that continue to respond to emergencies, those that have begun the initial work of relief and recovery, and for church communities as they reach out to their most vulnerable members and neighbors.

Thank you to everyone who participated in caring for our Community Garden this summer! It was a bumper crop that we were able to share with the Hanover Food Pantry and our St. Andrew's family.
