Updates From The Sea Pines CSA
Maintenance Department
Repair Work To Occur At Beachwalk 15 & 16

Beginning the week of February 11 th , the CSA Maintenance Department will be making repairs to the full length of concrete along beachwalks #15 and #16.

  • These concrete walkways are in disrepair with broken concrete throughout.
  • We will be removing the existing concrete walkways and replacing them at the same width.
  • The beachwalks will be accessible during this work.

Location and project timeframe:

Beach Walk #15- Located between Painted Bunting Road and Belted Kingfisher Lane
  • Work to begin Wednesday, February 13.
  • Estimated Project Completion: 1 week, weather permitting

Beach Walk #16- Located between Belted Kingfisher Lane and Bald Eagle Road 
  • Work to begin Wednesday February 20.
  • Estimated Project Completion: 1 week, weather permitting

Deer Island Bridge Update

  • Work continues on the Deer Island Bridge. At this time we are approximately 50% complete with bridge repairs.
  • Bulkhead reinforcement has been completed.
  • Phase 2 of this project begins on Monday, February 11. In this phase, we will be removing the decking from the opposite lane of the bridge in order to replace it.
  • On Thursday February 14, crews will be installing a structural support component of the bridge. To facilitate this work, potable water that services Deer Island will be shut off mid-morning for a couple of hours.

Lawton Canal Timber Bridge

  • The new bridge pilings have now been installed.
  • Today, February 9, our contractor will be installing structural bridge supports between 8:00 am- 2:30 pm.
  • Estimated Project Completion: 2 weeks, weather permitting.

Irrigation Testing/ Work Planned

  • Sea Pines CSA is in the process of testing the CSA managed irrigation systems throughout Sea Pines to prepare for the spring and summer watering season. 

  • Repair work is occurring on the irrigation system near Fraser Circle and is anticipated to be completed by the end of next week.
