IvyNotes: January 20 th
  Director's Note

We hope you are enjoying this long weekend and are able to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day in a meaningful way tomorrow. We look forward to having our students and staff return to school on Tuesday.

I have a staffing update to share with you. Nancy Yasharoff, Director of Communications and Marketing, is leaving Ivymount to pursue a new opportunity. Ivymount has benefited greatly from Nancy's expertise, humor, hard work and creative ideas including our weekly IvyNotes! We hope to fill this position soon but during this transition period, please direct any communication that you would send to Nancy to Amanda Custer  at  [email protected].

Our School to Work PHS students and staff thank you for your support of our student businessess, Ivy Soapery and Ivy Barkery.  We are thrilled with the sales through our new  Marketplace and happy to share our products with so many of you.

The deadline to register for MANSEF Advocacy Day in Annapolis is this Tuesday. Please scroll down for details and a link to the RSVP form.

It is cold outside! We are continuing our  Annual Winter Clothing Drive through February. Details below.

Hope you have a great week,
S usan Holt

Ivymount School
follows the
inclement weather policy
of Montgomery County
Public Schools

When MCPS closes school due to inclement weather, Ivymount School is closed.

When MCPS has a late opening, Ivymount School has a late opening.

If MCPS has an early closing due to inclement weather, Ivymount will also close early and we will notify parents/guardians to make sure that someone is available at home to meet the student.

If MCPS has a late opening on a Wednesday, Ivymount School will have a full day program and dismiss students at 3:15 p.m.

Please note that some school jurisdictions have their own policy for providing transportation on inclement weather days (e.g., Prince George's County Public Schools will not transport students if there is a delayed opening on Wednesdays). Ivymount and/or the school system will notify parents/guardians when alternate transportation arrangements occur.

We will post announcements about school closings, delayed openings, or early dismissals due to winter weather emergencies through a Constant Contact email (like this one). If you have registered for our Ivymount text emergency alerts, you will also receive a text.
