We are so thankful for all of you.
We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. We also salute our caregivers this month. Where would we be without the incredible caregivers we all know and love?
And I thank again our esteemed Link Partners, listed at the bottom of this newsletter. Your annual, constant support makes an incredible difference in all we do. If your center is not listed below, please make sure they know who we are and what we do, and how to get more involved. It takes a village.

Meet Amanda Ferraro, our Guest Blogger on
Cancer, Relapse and
Resilience.

Imagine putting your child to sleep with a smile on your face; but the reality is you are searching for a
breath of air.

That was me on May 16, 2017. It was the night I went to the emergency room thinking something was wrong with my heart, but in reality, I had cancer. With these three small words, my life literally changed. Me? Cancer?

Cancer Fatigue:
Getting through the Holidays.

It's not too late to register for this popular, timely one.

Did you know that fatigue is the most common symptom associated with cancer survivorship?  Many patients do not feel comfortable bringing it up with their doctors. It is under-reported, under-diagnosed and under-treated, affecting quality of life. Tis’ the season to offer support and coping strategies. Our speaker, Christina Ferraro, MSN,CNP, BMTCN, of the Cleveland Clinic Blood & Marrow Transplant Program will offer her professional wisdom and offer her best tips for surviving the holidays. As well, Spin Zucker will share his wonderful patient perspective.

Airbnb’s Open Homes Program

There is still time to check this out but the clock is ticking.

This unique program, offers medical patients and their caregivers free housing when they travel for treatment. Thanks to the generous community of Open Homes hosts, over 35,000 people have found temporary housing through this program.

Too often, the cost of travel and accommodations can be a barrier to receiving life-saving treatment. Recently, our friends at Bone Marrow & Cancer Foundation and Airbnb Open Homes partnered to help people traveling to their center for medical care. That’s why we’re reaching out. We wanted to know if you can offer a few nights of free housing to families and caregivers through the Open Homes platform.

Testimonials
“All I could do was cry tears of thankfulness! It took a lot of stress away from an already stressful situation. For my radiation treatment Open Homes was definitely a big part of my village, because it definitely took a village! My husband has used all of his time off for all of my surgeries and treatments, so having this financial burden lifted from us was amazing. I don’t know what we would have done if it wasn’t for this program. -BMCF guest

“I was anxious, because I’d never offered up a home to a stranger. But when I opened the door and saw Melissa, I knew in a second that I was absolutely doing the right thing.” -Open Homes host
