" Go out to all the world and tell the Good News. " Mark 15:16
Message from the Principal
Dear St. Michael-St. Gabriel Families and Friends,

With the month of July already upon us, many are looking forward to the start of a new school year. Like many other Archdiocesan schools in Indianapolis and the surrounding communities, we are scheduled to return back to school in person this fall. Our first day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11th, and we plan to dismiss at 1:30 p.m. that day. While we are still trying to schedule many of the same activities that we have had in previous years, we know that this fall will look very different. As we finalize our re-entry plan, we will be sure to share those details with you.

When we resume classes, all students, staff, and visitors into the building will be required to wear face masks. As noted by many in the medical community, the wearing of these masks is not only to protect the health of the individual wearing the face covering but for those around the individual as well. We will also be requiring students to label and use their own water bottles throughout the day. Drinking fountains will not be in use. Students will only be able to fill their water bottles at the designated stations. Additionally, we will be limiting the visitors into our building. If you have any concerns about your student returning back to school in August, I ask that you reach out to me in the next week or two so that we can discuss any concerns you have.

In the next week or so, your family will receive a Free and Reduced Meal Application, as well as financial information from Mrs. Areal. We ask that all families, whether you think you will qualify for free or reduced meals or not, complete these forms and mail them to the school. Mrs. Areal will continue to hold financial meetings throughout part of this month and next month. If you have not scheduled your meeting with her, please call the school office or email her to schedule that appointment.

Continue to stay well! Have a safe and beautiful Fourth of July!

God Bless,

Mrs. Ramos

Faith & Service
PRAYER TO END RACISM

God of love and justice, St. Paul proclaimed that “there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. May we be emboldened by your living Word to rid the world of the sin of discrimination in our attitudes and actions. Help us to seek the unity that Paul saw so clearly so that all forms of injustice will cease. Grant us the courage and determination to be prophets of peace. May we welcome one another as brothers and sisters, rooted in your everlasting love. Amen.

Prayer Requests
As a Catholic and Christian community, we believe in the power of prayer, and we certainly want to keep your intentions in our prayers. If there is anyone or anything for which you would like us to pray, please submit your request using this link: forms.gle/uzxArWikcsHtvyuMA . We have various groups throughout the school who will be praying for your intentions each week. Feel free to bookmark this tab and use it regularly.

Pope Francis prayer for protection from Coronavirus

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign
of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,
with steadfast faith.
You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need.
We are certain that you will provide, so that,
as you did at Cana of Galilee,
joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform ourselves to the Father’s will
and to do what Jesus tells us:
He who took our sufferings upon Himself,
and bore our sorrows to bring us,
through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection.
Amen.
We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test
– and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

This is a reminder that all incoming seventh and eighth grade families must have a device (iPad, Chromebook, tablet, or laptop) for school next year. Our Used Uniform Sale will be held on Friday, July 10th, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
