Special thanks to Shepherd's Table who distributed hot meals at three pop-up locations in District 3 this week.

On Monday, July 13, at 7:00 pm Council Chair Todd Turner, Council Members Davis and Taveras, will join me as special guests for a virtual discussion of County Budget and Tax Structure, including CB-48-2020, a bill that would enable the voters to decide in the November election about  making changes to the homestead property tax cap. Future topics will include policing, health & human services, education, and the environment.

Please register for the July 13 conversation  here.

Tuesday evening, the Council held the public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2021 Annual Action Plan for Housing and Community Development and the Fiscal Years 2021-2025 Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development.

Thanks in part to work of the County Council and the Housing Opportunities for All Workgroup, which I am proud to co-chair, have done, we moved forward a new item in this consolidated plan, Section 108 Loan Guarantee Funds. This will allow Community Development Block Grant recipients with funds to leverage their grant allocation for access to low-cost, flexible financing for catalytic housing and/or economic development projects and gives Prince George's County access to $25 million in Section 108 financing.  Watch here

Please share this list of food distribution in/near Council District 3 during the week of July 13.

As always, feel free to reach out to a member of my District 3 team or me if we can help you in any way. I am sharing updates regularly on social media, especially my Facebook page .   #onlytogether

Volunteer to deliver meals to District 3 seniors in need on July 22. Sign up here.

Special shout-out to all our July 8 volunteers who helped deliver more than 150 meals to D3 seniors who were not able to pick them up. Stacey (pictured above) finished her night shift at Kaiser Permanente at 8:30am,
picked up her teens, and then helped us deliver to a dozen homes.

We have received numerous emails, calls, and texts letting us know how much these meals meant to our seniors.
