September Mission of the Month |

Mission of the Month for September
Camp Calumet Reach the Beach
|
Reach the Beach is an ambitious relay race that covers over 200 miles in two days. Each year Camp Calumet sends a team of runners, luggers, drivers, and chaplains to race as a fundraiser, providing scholarships for children to attend camp in the Summer.
In 2017 -- Calumet received about 1000 gifts from over 800 donors totally $102,000! Wow!
The goal for 2018 -- $109,000!
St. James has an active presence at RTB each year, with several members participating. From the Fales and Zimmerman families, to Tim Bruce and Sue Olson, as well as others. We are so thankful for their willingness to run, drive, and lug to make this a success for Calumet. If you would like to make a contribution there will be baskets in the sanctuary throughout the month of September.
Thank you for your continued generosity!

Barrington Day of Caring - Register Now! |
First Annual Barrington Day of Caring
Monday, October 8
Noon-5pm
On Monday, October 8 people from all over our community will gather for a day of service that will include assisting local residents in need with projects that include: yard work, light carpentry, cleaning, and general service. In addition, we send teams to several local areas to clean and beautify, including: Barrington Beach, the bike path, Latham Park, and others. This is a great opportunity to serve people in need and come together as a community of care. This event was inspired by the work of the Barrington Community Panel and is chaired by Pastor Andrew and Rev. Dale Azevedo from the Barrington Congregational Church. Special thanks to our partners at We Share Hope, the BAY team, and the Barrington Recreation Department!

St. James Softball Update |
Historic Softball Season for St. James!
The St. James softball team came within one game of the finals in the Barrington Church softball league. In a hard-fought semifinal game, St. James battled to within four runs, but ultimately fell to "Team Unaffiliated." It was a great season!
Many thanks to John Schaller who made it all possible and gathered a great group of people to play throughout the Summer!
