The Community Church "CheRIB" Team is preparing for Lake Bluff's Annual "Ribfest" on Oct. 6 following last year's amazing 6th place finish. It's a GREAT DAY - and we'd love to have you involved! Please take a moment and read below - contact Zach with questions.
The Cheribs (Community Church’s Rib Team) is back for another go in this Lake Bluff classic. In our first year competing we placed 6th place overall in a field of 18. This year we are aiming to win the People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice has nothing to do with how good a team’s ribs are, but everything to do with how much money a team raises for charity. All donations go to a favorite charity of the Community Church - Beef for Hunger
Donations are collected at each tent and are encouraged by appetizers given out at the tent and how outgoing and enthusiastic the tent is. Let’s make the Community Church RibFest tent a party! The DBUT are going to make a guest appearance.
Please consider participating in one of the following ways (listed in order of commitment level, 1 is least commitment):
  1. Come by the tent at some point in the day (we’ll be at the tent from 7 AM until 6 PM) or stay all day
  2. Participate in decorating the tent. We’re going for loud and crazy: chili pepper lights, lots of dancing bohemians
  3. Provide beverages and other refreshments for the tent
  4. We need custom aprons and trucker hats if anyone want to make them for us
  5. Appetizers, appetizers, and more appetizers to draw people to our tent and put a smile on their face (so they’ll give $ to Beef4Hunger)
  6. Help set-up and/or clean-up
  7. Inquire about being part of the Cheribs BBQ team - email Zach
