Remember your loved one at the Annual Memorial

Samaritans' Annual Memorial allows us to come together to honor our loved ones whom we have lost to suicide.  Those who attend range from people who have suffered a recent loss to  people who are remembering a loved one lost years ago. It is an opportunity to reconnect, support one another, and share memories.

The program will take place on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church at 630 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington.  Click the flyer above for additional information about the event. For those wishing to make a submission to the program book, please RSVP by January 18.
Meet the Samaritans 2018 Boston Marathon team (pt. 1)

The Samaritans 2019 Boston Marathon team is off to a record-breaking start, with more than $100,000 raised toward our team goal of $160,000 and 88 days to go! The 13 dedicated runners on this team are loss survivors, volunteers, and folks who have benefited from our programs and services. Each month leading up to the big day, we'll be highlighting members of our outstanding team. This month, Sarah, Erin B., Tatiana, and Delaney share how they're preparing for the 2019 Boston Marathon.

Suicide loss survivor devotes decades to helping others

Every Samaritans volunteer has their own path to finding us. After tragically losing her brother to suicide, volunteer Jane Quercia has spent the last 30 years helping other people manage their pain and grief.

We are so grateful to Jane for her years of service and dedication to Samaritans. Jane's compassionate and empathetic nature has helped so many people who rely on Samaritans' programs. We're fortunate to have her in the Samaritans family.

Samaritans highlighted on WCVB's 5 for Good segment

Did you catch the highlight about Samaritans on  WCVB Channel 5 Boston's Five for Good?  Hear from David Cohen, the top individual fundraiser at the 2018 5K Run/Walk for Suicide Prevention, about what our mission means to him personally and how our incredible volunteers help people who are struggling each day. We're so grateful for David and our volunteers for sharing their story.
MBTA focus on suicide prevention

We're always grateful that the MBTA strongly supports our mission. Our Community Education and Outreach team recently met with 50 MBTA Operations staff who supervise frontline employees, as well as mechanical and administrative staff. We spoke with them about how suicide is a public health epidemic, what warning signs to look for, and how to support someone who may be struggling. We're so thankful to the T for helping to prevent suicide and promote safety to their patrons!
We're hiring!
